Are you stalking anyone who was even remotely sceptical at the beginning of the season or something??Originally posted by Nicey View PostWell Misery guts are you feeling the ****ing happy juice yet
Rafa Benitez gave us pride again. He gave us hopes and dreams. He made us feared across the Continent and took us closer to the Premier League Title than anyone since King Kenny. He became one of us and fought on our behalf. Rafa "got" LFC. For me he will forever be a legend. I'd have him back in a heartbeat. YNWA Rafa.

Just been looking through our run in to and beyond the festive period and it's got me ridiculously excited about our prospects of putting a title challenge this year:
01 Nov, 2008 - Tottenham Hotspur (A)
08 Nov, 2008 - West Brom (H)
15 Nov, 2008 - Bolton Wanderers (A)
22 Nov, 2008 - Fulham (H)
01 Dec, 2008 - West Ham United (H)
06 Dec, 2008 - Blackburn Rovers (A)
13 Dec, 2008 - Hull City (H)
21 Dec, 2008 - Arsenal (A)
26 Dec, 2008 - Bolton Wanderers (H)
28 Dec, 2008 - Newcastle United (A)
10 Jan, 2009 - Stoke City (A)
There's only one or two tricky games in that run (one of which is tomorrow IMO). We should be looking to pick up a lot of points in November and December. If we perform as we should I see no reason for this thread not to still be on the first page come January!

9 wins a loss and a draw - prob not happen as football is not like that but on paper thats how i see it.
that would put us on 54 points
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.
"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

Another good sign for us is that out of the 10 games played 7 of them have been against sides that are currently in the top 10. It shows that we're playing, and beating, sides that are in good form themselves and not just the rubbish at the bottom. One of the 3 from the bottom half was Everton away too and that's not usually an easy fixture for us either.

01 Nov, 2008 - Tottenham Hotspur (A)
A tricky one. Harry will have them up for it and the draw with Arsenal will have renewed their confidence and spirit. Modric's starting to come into his own in the middle so this has developed into a bigger game than was thought a few weeks ago. A game we should win, but wouldn't be surprised to see a draw.
08 Nov, 2008 - West Brom (H)
Should be a win here. Have you seen them lately?
15 Nov, 2008 - Bolton Wanderers (A)
Not a patch on Sam's version. Playing away will add a bit to it but should mean they open up. I fully expect a win.
22 Nov, 2008 - Fulham (H)
Who? Win.
01 Dec, 2008 - West Ham United (H)
It's taking Zola some time to get them settled and they have some muck in their squad. I can't see them setting ten behind the ball and would expect a win here.
06 Dec, 2008 - Blackburn Rovers (A)
Always a tough trip but like Bolton and Sam they've lost something since Sparky left. McCarthy has been pants and Santa Cruz has been invisible lately. They don't have a lot of creativity and it'll be a case of brains against braun. Look for a win here.
13 Dec, 2008 - Hull City (H)
The shine will have worn off their fantastic start by then. A loss to Chelsea in mid-week and a loss to United this weekend will see reality sink in. No doubt they'll come to defend but they have some decent attacking players so I can see this being fairly open. A win.
21 Dec, 2008 - Arsenal (A)
Arsenal aren't showing signs of weakness this year but still have quality in their first eleven. They certainly won't defend and we've had the edge over them lately so it should be a good match. One we can win, but most likely a draw.
26 Dec, 2008 - Bolton Wanderers (H)
Will be stubborn but can be beaten. A win.
28 Dec, 2008 - Newcastle United (A)
A shambles. Too many poor players, no unity and no direction. A win.
10 Jan, 2009 - Stoke City (A)
A revenge mission for LFC. Will make them pay for holding us to a draw at Anfield. A win.
8 wins.
2 draws.
Still top of the table.

i said earlier that we need to recognise our weaknesses - yesterday was an example of this - our inability to finish teams off. how many times last year did this happen?
i just hope we finish our european group business on tuesday and then go on another 100% winning run upto the arsenal game and then we'll have a good idea of what we need to do.
still think we need reinforcements in january also but that only matters if we're still up there at xmas

Jamie does seem to have scored quite a few oggies in his time but they tend not to be howlers from backpasses. They were all deflections/ interceptions while going about his job. Absolutely no problem with him for that.Originally posted by ronanm View PostGutted - but think how Carra feels...We'll be back. If I was offered this start to the season I'd have taken it. C'mon the Reds!!
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

So if we're not in the race after Christmas we shouldn't be looking to strengthen the squad? Is this because you think Rafa will be sacked if we don't win it this year, and he shouldn't be allowed to spend money in January if a new manager is to take over?Originally posted by rage View Posti said earlier that we need to recognise our weaknesses - yesterday was an example of this - our inability to finish teams off. how many times last year did this happen?
