to date not one of rafa's 'cheap' signings has worked out hence why some posters are comparing many of our players as only slight improvements to the one's houllier had.

Depends what you mean by cheap I suppose:

Reina - £6mil ish for one of the worlds best keepers - Very cheap.
Agger & Skrtel - £5mil a piece for quality young defenders - Very cheap.
Arbeloa - Jury's still out somewhat but at £2.5mil I think he's done more than enough to justify his fee.
Torres - The worlds best striker for £20mil, surely for the quality of the player that's cheap too?

I think most of his signings have worked out in terms of providing a general sustained improvement in the squad.

again in particular i was referring to attacking players. talk about the cavelry rushing in now i know the style of football we play means reina has more assist then our no 10 but come on

what i meant by cheap was players below 10 million or thereabouts. i'm sure with torres we got a bargain at 20 million but he sure weren't cheap being a record signing for us.

i don't think agger or skertl were necessarily cheap for centre backs. but feel free to pick an argument instead of trying to respond to my point about our attacking players being only slight improvements
