He's just lost his place in the side after being injured for about a year. Nothing more, nothing less. He'll be back because he's class. If he was 'out of favour' Rafa would've left him out of the CL squad rather than Sami.

Agger and Bendtner were by far the best players for Denmark, when Denmark beat Portugal last week. Agger is back at his best - no doubt - so its not abt. him having to find a way back and train harder - it must be up to the two first chosen playing that good - and Rafa trying to keep a winning team instead of rotating.

All that crap abt. his social life - after having spoken to him and heard him talk to a bunch of teenagers abt. the temptations and his distance to anything with drugs and getting unreal drunk, I'm sure that type of stories are made of evertonians or even scum-supporters! This is by far not Aggers style - he is a model professional with a high degree of maturity and dignity (a real LFC-player)!

FFS, you lot are hilarious. We are barely 5 games into the season and the guy is still recovering from a broken foot. He played a full 90 minutes last week and in time he will get games. No reason to overreact is there. Skrtle and Carra are immense and we also have Agger so we should happy

That's how I always saw it. Of course we have no real insight whatsoever but Agger seems a very clued-up, mature young lad and I imagine him to be a very good pro.

He's been out for a year, he's probably not fully match fit, even if he was he's probably not ready to play 2 games a week as he played an International game midweek. Add to that the form of Skrtel and Carra, he's got a fight on for his place, although I suspect he may play some part either tomorrow or at the weekend
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

From today's BBC gossip round up:

Liverpool may offer centre-back Daniel Agger a new deal, with the Danish international growing frustrated at his lack of opportunities. (The Times, Daily Mirror)

To rush him back after a season out would be madness at this stage.
It has to be a gradual process especially after the injury he had.

Coupled with the fact that Carra and Skrtel are playing extremely well and look pretty solid im not surprised he's on the bench at the moment, he'll get plenty of games this season and i dont think theres any cause for concern

Seems like the media are whipping this one up.

LFC stuck by Agger all last season, paid his wages and medical bills. He`s coming back from injury and can`t walk straight back into the team.
Agger knows that Carra is getting older and he must wait another yr or so.Until then he`ll get plenty of games in Rafa`s rotation.

agger and skrtel will cover when jamie needs a rest prolonging his career

if any red ever deserved a title its him and even sami but he may just miss out by a year
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

God i would hate that, not winning the title because obviously i would love it, but Sami missing out by a year after the great service he has given us over the years.

At the minute Skrtel totally deserves his place (as does Carra) and it is excellent to have this level of competition. It does all make you feel a bit sorry for Sami though - I think he might leave in January if Agger regains full fitness.
defo, I think maybe Skrtel would be the choice to lead the line.
As for Sami, I think his time will beup in Jan if Agger takes his place on the bench.
