Our conversation ended up with both of us giving our dream premier league team.

His had adebayour and a load of Chelsea players and no Liverpool Players.

Mine had reina, agger, gerrard, Masc and Torres.

Exactly. Nando doesn't look as good with a partner up front whether playing for us or Spain. He is awesome up front on his own with support from deeper.

Oh and Stevie is miles better than Fat Frank, and Talksport is total ****e.

I know thats what i told him he also said that Masc can't tackle half as well as Essien to which i sent him the following stats from last season.

The man is a legend pure and simple he's up there with the likes of King Kenny IMO. Yes he had a wobble of few years ago when he got his head turned by Chelsea but he stayed and he's loving it.

Lampard is a very good footballer; Gerrard is a world class footballer with the ability to improve any side in world football.

The same could be said of Gerrard and Lampard. Gerrard can play all over the pitch whilst Lampard is only truly effective in a 4-5-1 with free license to bomb forward with no defensive responsibilities.

In reality SG and FL are different players and it really is down to who suits your team better. I don't think Gerrard would be any better for Chelsea than Lampard. Nor do think Lampard would be anywhere near Gerrards level at Anfield.

Talksport sparked of this debate with a view to who should start for Englands next game, going on the understanding that the two can not play together and therefore its one of the two alongside Gareth Barry. After a 4-1 win against Croatia I don't see a need to change the team, but on the flip side Gerrard is the best England player, and to have any hope of winning the World Cup Gerrard would have to be in the starting line up.

It's a good problem for Capello to have.

The problem for England is that SGs best role is not as a CM in a "tactical" team. His best role is in a free role as unburdened of tactical responsibilities as possible. Alas Rooney has this role for England so TBH I continue to see SG underperforming for England, him to continue whinging and the press to continue to play the same FL vs. SG games.
