If only he could get a first touch for Christmas, he'd be sorted.

Still, one of my favourite players for the heart and commitment he shows!

Would he be in my first eleven? Not a chance. Do I think he offers something to the team? Not really. Would I have him in the squad? Sure, we all do need a workhorse. If I was offered 13/14m for him, would I let him go? Depends on our options.

Not a chance – he is limited and always will be.

Is my mind changed regarding his worth to the team?

Yes. As things stand he’d be in my first eleven.

I never wanted him sold so I don’t have to change my stance but I am happy to accept that the guy is now well worth his place in the starting XI. I did say we’d never win the league with Dirk as a regular. Now, I’m not so sure that's the case.
I'd be in this corner too. Except, i probably did want him sold.

Now i would rather keep him, but everyone has a price and if a bid of £15m or more came in, i'm not sure i'd want it rejected.

I will always worry that the chances he fails to put away will cost us points over the course of the season.

He wouldn't get into any of our competitors sides but I still cant fail to like the guy.

Im hoping he picks up a few more goals this season, and builds up some momentum. If his confidence in front of goal improves, and he finishes off chances like he did at Feyenoord, he will be one hell of a player.

I've always liked Kuyt and I tend to think that unless you get a huge premium or are changing style you shouldn't sell any of your first XI. Kuyt was that last season and he has improved a lot this season in terms of form therefore I wouldn't have sold him in the summer and I wouldn't sell him now for the values talked of.

While we are on the subject it really annoys me when people go 'everyone should work as hard as Kuyt and therefore I shall judge Kuyt on criteria of aesthetic skills'. For a start it is pretty obvious that almost no one in the league works as hard as Kuyt so it's not in reality reasonable to ignore hiw workrate. The other thing is a/they might well do but be less able physically to do as much as Kuyt even if they are giving 100% and b/ his work is intelligent and you could run as much as Kuyt and still be far less effective.

As do i, it's a niggling feeling that won't go away, but just lately iv'e been getting another feeling.........no not that one!, a feeling that his goals/chances that he 'does' put away this season could just be the difference in a good way.

Thats a very good point - the majority of professional footballers would find it physically impossible to put in the same work rate as Kuyt on a consistant basis - his stamina is absolutely incredible.

I like Kuyt, but I would sell him for a good price. He has a limited ability, and as such will not come to improve our team in the position he plays. We need a better winger for his position IMO.

I like Kuyts mentality and his effort in the matches, but it would somewhat impress me more if that was in a def mid role or such!

There isnt to many players who actually can, his stamina is amazing. I have no doubt that all Liverpool players put in 100% but Kuyts 100% is more than the rest due to his fitness.

Also, if a striker (playing as a striker in a strikers position) put as much work in as Kuyt or any true box to box player, they could end up out of position a lot of the time, certain players tend to do more work than others purely because of the position they play.

But, Kuyt is exceptional, stamina is ****in awesome, he knows it, Rafa knows it, so they put it to good use, and he ends up part of a winning team, is the idea hopefully.
