Yeah, you're right. Many teams will still come here fancying their chances of a point, maybe even three even they can sneak a goal on the counter attack.

I think most teams go to Stanford Bridge not expecting to get anything at all out of the game apart from a few cuts and bruises.

We are getting there, but not even close to the mythical "fortress" just yet.

It's definitely a step in the right direction, but are we there yet or does it take years of playing at this level before Anfield becomes the place of nightmares for visiting teams?
That is far too many draws. Too many points dropped at home.
      Oh I don't know.

Strangely enough they drew more at home last season than LFC did at Anfield, 7 in all. We drew 6 but lost to the Scum. From a points perspective there ain't much between us.

Even this season, early though it is, we've only drawn one to their two.

The fortress is deffo being built.

And that Torres is Spanish for Tower! Well kind of interesting, if only in a lame kind of way

Wigan have spent a week and a half preparing for Torres. Now that he's out, they won't have a clue what to expect.

I believe so called lesser clubs like Wigan this Saturday believe they can get points at Anfield which shouldn't be the case if we are to challenge for the title. When teams go to Old Toilet or the Bridge, they have mentally lost the game before kick off. Thats the sign to having a fortress.

You've hit the nail on the head there. Good post.

I was comparing AFII's definition of a fortress compared to what is now a fortress and what we need to do for Anfield to become a fortress.

I don't like respecting the opposition either but you have to admit they are a hard unit to break down and are bloody hard to beat on their own patch.

However I do believe that their long running home record will come to an end next week.

They'll be cacking their pants coming up against us. We're no monkeys that are going to be easily turn over like all the other teams.

Without wanting to sound too negative, I don't expect a lot going to Old Toilet, Bridge or Emirates. I have said this before that the team mentally doesn't seem to have that belief that they can go and win. It doesn't have to be a resounding win but a smash and grab win against the teams in the top 4 will suffice.
