Never thought that would happen, after my first year and a half with 90 some posts

Carra for right back as far as I'm concerned. Could Darby come on as a sub if we are cruising? Take off Hyypia, move Carra to the middle and play Darby as RB.

I think we would be fine with Darby or Degen at right back. Carragher alongside them will sort any problems out.

Carra at RB is an option, as is Gerrard in an emergency, even Kuyt could do a job IMO. But personally I'd go wih Darby. Degen not yet fit and I would like to keep Agger next to Carragher to ease him back after a year out.

The rest of the team has no other problems. Should have enough whether Torres starts or not, though as he was taken of last night I think that points to him starting.
              Forwards.......

                I would go 3-4-1-2

                ------------------Reina-------------------
                -----Carra--------Hyypia-------Agger-----
                -Kuyt------Alonso-------Masher-----Riera-
                -----------------Gerrard------------------
                ----------Torres--------Keane------------

Carragher played at right back last season against Bolton- wouldn't be surprised if he played there again.
Bolton against Hull started with a 4-4-2 and switched to a 4-5-1 soon as they got the goal and sat back. Its imperative that we get the first goal and batter them around like we did last season.

This is the team I expect to play against us : Jaaskelainen, Steinsson, Cahill, Andrew O'Brien, Samuel, Muamba, Gardner, McCann, Taylor, Davies, Elmander.

I personally think we have enough quality to beat them. Their midfield works extremely hard at closing down so we have to make sure that we work their full backs as much as possible.

I expect to us to line up with: Reina, Carragher, Hyypia, Agger, Aurelio, Kuyt, Mascherano, Alonso, Riera, Gerrard, Keane. With Torres to come on after 60 minutes.

That's a very good side for many reasons. One would be that it accomodates Keane without losing Alonso/Mascher. Another is that Kuyt and Riera are quite hard workers on the wing (Kuyt esp.) Mascher has the nous give Riera cover.

Bolton are most dangerous from set pieces and not open play so the inclusion of Hyypia would help to stop that threat too.

                    I like it.

i wouldn't be suprised if rafa went with Carra, Agger, Hyypia, Aurelio - but i don't see why Darby can't step up....he will have kuyt in front of him who works his bollocks off, carra alongside him, and mascherano eating babies in the middle - he should be ok.
It could be the making of him, but equally so, Rafa's never been one for taking risks like that.

A must win. I have seen us before at the Reebok - playing Bolton there is like playing someone who is worse than you at tennis - unless you get scores on the board early, you eventually sink to their level. 2-0 to Liverpool I hope!

I think it is a great team to play Bolton, however, it is not likely too happen. It allows us to combat their phsysical game and we are strong enough at the front to keep them pinned back and under pressure. However, it is not likely too happen, unless we go two down and we resort to the similar tactics as the Wigan game were we ended up playing 2 at the back after they went down to 10 men

Nice on paper but Kuyt and Riera haven't got the pace to play a deeper, wing back role. I think Dirk would make a good right back but Riera would end up getting himself sent off.

It's Bolton, we should beat them with 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 but going with a brand new formation is asking for trouble and dare I say giving them far more respect than they deserve.

                                Alonso

                                Kuyt
                                Gerrard
                                Riera

                                Keane/Torres

Subs. Cava., Hyypia, Dossena, Babel, Lucas, El Zahr, Keane/Torres

Would be a good bet IMO, maybe just wishful thinking about Darby but I hope he gets the chance.
