Who's been our best winger thus far?

    Kuyt
    Riera
    Benayoun
    Pennant
    Babel

For all his class, Riera doesn't have enough end-products for me.

I would have to say Kuyt has been great. Scoring goals, providing assists, Keane should've really scored from his excellent low cross on saturday. Babel has been the most disappointing for me. I though it was gonna be his big year, but so far he has looked worse than last season.

I bit unfair to judge Reira so soon, but I think the entire football world has been impressed with his start at liverpool so you are on your own there mate. Increadably dangerous, strong on the ball, can beat 3 men let alone one and his delivery is excellent.. not sure which player you have been watching ...

Presently it would have to go to Kuyt ... gives so much to the team .. a real Powerhouse of a player .. right up there with Gerrard, Torres, Pepe, Carra in my books in terms of what he consistently gives the team

I've gone with Reira as he's been our best "winger". Kuyt has been a better player on the right but I wouldn't say in a winger role.

bang on Kuyt is not really a winger .. more a striker turned Attacking Right Mid field .. Riera is a winger for sure

To be honest I was hoping to see Digger's name on the list.

Reira not Keane is one of the main reasons we have started so well, along with Dirky we finally have balance within the team.

We can switch play with confidence and the build up play looks more structured. Some of the passing amd movement is a joy to watch, we are also now able to stretch teams wide, this allows the midfield runners more space to move into and cause problems.

Once Torres is back on song we will see the results with many more goals.

+2. I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw the thread title.

While Dirk may not be an out and out winger, he is playing as a RM player so without being pedantic, I have voted for him as he has been one of the most consistent performers thus far. Plus he plays the full 90 mins most matches which counts heaps if you are comparing players IMO.

Well I'd say only Riera and Pennant are actually "wingers" in that list, so in terms of the actual question it has to be Riera. However, of that list Kuyt has without doubt been the best player IMO.

                      You asked.

Riera has been a big plus on the left hand side and he will hopefully get even better as his understanding of our play develops.

Kuyt, however, it has to be said has been pretty consistent in delivering from the right hand side and for me, in answer to the question, has been our best winger thus far (this season only).

Hey surprise surprise. No-one has voted for Benny or JP or Babel !

Kuyt has been the best for me, he might not be your typical winger but he has been great for providing width and always out wide when we attack down his side.

I agree with this. I would be a critic of his as i do not feel he is a great goal threat as a striker as he needs so many chances an is guilty of shooting far too early.

i am happy that he is proving me wrong weekly

not a genuine out and out winger but a vital cog in our team and should be one of the first names on the teamsheet each week. contributes a better workrate that anyone and is now adding goals thus adding confidence and improving him as a player.

so il go for reira to answer the initial question
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

Have to say that Riera has shown glimpses of what he can do and looks a great prospect, however this season Kuyt has achieved a really high level and gets my vote.

Kuyt has offered us goals from a wide position and his workrate when we don't have the ball is admirable and an example to the rest of the team. He is intelligent on the ball and really does link up play well.
