Craig, if I may say so, sometimes you take things too seriously.
Mate, my whole take on Owen in this thread is tongue in cheek - i wouldnt advocate having him instead of Keane.

Now you've got me to admit that, i cant have any more fun winding up MrM on the subject

I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
        Mine angry and defrauded young?

          That's vicious.

I cant believe you're using an image of an animal suffering, in order to make your point.

Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

I would too, on those terms.

              He'd be a great 3rd or 4th choice striker.

                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I'd take him back full stop on the terms being mentioned in the papers. A big cut on his Newcastle terms, contract wise, though.

When fit he's still a top class player and I think him playing less games would assist him, making himless injury prone.

A trio of Keane, Torres and Owen would be class. But with Babel waiting in the wings would it be the right move?

Owen is a better player than Keane. Always has been and still is. And we could have bought him for half the price of Keane. Ah well.

Maybe he is. I'll not argue. Was Robbie Keane worth £20m? No.

But Robbie Keane is the sort of player we needed. Owen was not. Keane has played in most of our games this year and we are joint top of the prem. Coincidence? If you say so.

And though Keane is not worth £20m, if we win the league with him continuing to contribute, was he the right signing? Clearly the answer is yes.

Wouldn't want him back as if we do win the league the ****ing media would credit him as to why we have won the league!
So no thanks!...its teamwork, not michael ****ing owen!

Co-incidence, I don't know. I do think that the impact he's had is less than we could have had for other £20milion pound players.
