agree. plus he keeps possession which has helped our patient buildup play.

his descision making has started to look a bit suspect lately though and he is another forward who is not a goal threat. Thats our biggest problem.

    Lucas was ok I thought.

Babel - he can beat a player and is quick. Thats about it. Coming on for these cameos is not going to help him improve his weaknessess though. I really don't think he's got what it takes.

Alonso keeps the ball better and is a far better passer of the ball, but today all of them were guilty of it not just Lucas. So many passes were canceled out by Fulham, all the balls threaded through were intercepted or inaccurate.

I can't see Lucas staying past the Summer.

I wouldn't have layed Lucas, you wouldn't either. Rafa obviously thought he could, and he was proved wrong. We all make mistakes.
Fine, I can accept that (even though I think Rafa should have learnt the lesson re Lucas a lot sooner), but if I see Lucas play another league game while we still have something to play for then I will seriously despair. Up against Bullard and Murphy inept does not begin to describe his performance.

At the beginning of the season, I would have taken joint top at 22 November.
          Oh I don't know.

Agreed, but I don't understand your point?

Basically, after one **** game, there is no need to over-react. We are so much better than in previous years. There will always be hicups.

I don't think anyones over reacting, just discussing a very poor performance today? Lucas has his knockers (and rightly so IMO he's had plenty of time to adapt now). It would be a bit of a joke if we were all on here saying we were great today and unlucky not to take all 3.

EDIT: just reread the thread and saw Dhav's comments!

FACT = Alonso should have started

FACT = Lucas isnt up to it

FACT = We are still level on points with Chelsea

Lucas is clearly not up to it. He was inept today.

Keane needs to ****ing wake up. Rubbish.
There are only so many times we can say "at least he is getting into these positions". For a £20M striker he should be putting these away. When everyone is fit Gerrard should play behind Torres with Keane on the bench. I think Keane plays too close to Torres and gives him no options up front. Gerrard and Torres just click when they play together as they proved last week against Bolton when Torres replaced Keane.
Jellyfish are 97% water or something, so how much are they doing? Just give them another 3% and make them water. It's more useful

We got lucky .. Chelsea had 26 shots on goal 14 on target and at least 1 good goal disallowed .. how they did not win that game is a miracle ... hopefully Villa can put United to the sword .. we dont need them creepy up on us
