TBH i have gone off the idea of giving Rafa a new contract, wait until the end of the season and see where we are then imo.

We should wait till we're bottom of the league.

Disagree, get him signed up - then sign up the players, i.e. Agger, Arbeloa and Kuyt and let's see some stability so we can concentrate fully on the league. This will always be a distraction.

Even if we finish third - I still want him signed up.
          * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

cos we're top of the league without playing particularly well.

Insane. Our best ever start for what, 15 years? If now isnt the time to give the man a contract then I dont know what is

Totally baffled by Saturday's team selection and even more baffled and then infuriated at the subs. But jesus, we're top of both ther Premier League and our Champions League group
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

I think that the article posted by MrM in the news section gives an articulate and logically sound explanation for the subs. Not to say that they are what I would have done or that they were the optimal solution but I don't think they are as ludicrous as some are making out.

I still tend to feel that the only starting eleven change I would have made would have been Agger for Hyypia (although the latter has been playing well against a team like Hull I would prefer the ability to get the ball out of the back on the deck that Agger provides).

rafa can try dress it up however he likes. he made some bad decisions saturday.

                  sami - shouldnt have played
                  agger should have
                  keane should have started
                  bad substitutions
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

Sami was fantastic and he didn't put a foot wrong.

As for Keane, some said he needed a break and put on the bench last week. Don't know what to think now.

I'm not sure there is any case for Keane starting on his performances this season. Sami/Agger is debatable even if I agree with you. The substitutions have a logic to them and the stats show that Rafa is better at altering games with substitutes than people give him credit for, so I tend to give him the benefit of the doubt unless he does something truly inexplicable like switching to 3-5-2.

sami was good in fairness to him yes.

agger adds a goal threat and has more pace too.

as for keane he has to start - he will come good but needs playing time. babel needs game time too.

im sorry but rafa made mistakes saturday from the start.

rafa has made some match winning subs this year but if he had the right team out saturday we wouldnt be debating the logic of his substitutions

Thing is Bobby lots of posters have been calling out for Rafa to drop Keane. Last week one poster on here was acting a bit smug and saying "I told Rafa to drop Keane - he did and we won (against Blackburn)". So now all of a sudden Rafa should be picking Keane? I'm not saying you were one of these people at all, I'm just saying people seem to change their mind if it means they can use it as a stick to beat Rafa with.
