i don't think i'm the only one who thinks we're top of the league because of as much to do with the failure of chelsea and utd as how well we've played (or indeed actually haven't!)

So would I mate but it's progress. If someone said to you this time last year we'd be top a week or so before xmas you'd have been chuffed and so would I. We should be happy about the progress made even though there were some games we could have done better in, you don't seem to be.

Surely he is number 2 at the minute as the only manager left to outshine him in the league has been Fergi. We have finished above Arsenal twice and they have finished above us twice but this season we are well above them.
This is Scolari's first season but since we are above them I think it shows Rafa is outshining him as well.

You don't assess him in terms of positions this season. It's performances in the league since he's been here. And he's no.3

Well at least you have moved him from below the top 3 into the top 3

That's because I heard he was going to drop Dossena

Nah, I think Wenger and Fergie are above him in terms of their performance in the Prem. In Europe Rafa is up there with the best, but the League he ain't near the likes of Wenger or Fergie

Will agree with Fergi but Wenger just hasnt been cutting it in the league since Rafa took over.
Think there performances in the league have been pretty similar but this year Rafa has taken the lead over Wenger again.
The only managers who have had better overall records in the league since Rafa took over would be Maureen and Fergi.

playing kewell was a terrible decision and we were fortunate to get away with it
i doubt very much if he stayed on the park we would of won
                    only an opinion like
we didn't exactly get away with it did we. 0-3 half time is not gettng away with it.

What came after deserves credit but you won't find any from you or Rage it seems - it was all luck.

is our current form good enough? no.
the simple fact of the matter is though - the table doesn't lie and we're top.
don't give me any of this "we're more likely to drop points than our rivals" crap cause we so far we haven't.
we've played some superb football at times against hull. we've got torres to return and the real keane will stand up eventually and we'll pick up more points than the others.
it's not all roses but we haven't been in a better positions for ****ing ages. end of.

I have said "Oh God, not ....." when speculation about some of the players linked to us over the years. I think the first was 'Woodgate'.

people have got short memories ffs! we are usually ****ing dire come the months of nov/dec and always fall well away from the top, then we seem to flourish come the new year.

if the same happens this year/next then as history under rafa proves we should be playing much better thus beating the smaller outfits and any slips by the chavs or manure and we should press our lead.

                          i hope.....

What happens if our better start this season coincides with a poorer finish to the season? Then what?

In past seasons we finish strongly because we have rotated some of our better players early season and dropped points. This season, we've not rotated the likes of Gerrard nearly as much early season, so maybe they may not be able to finish as strongly from March onwards. A distinct possibility.

The return of Torres will be a big boost though. He should be fresh at that point injuries permitting

I remember you said Rafa must ditch the rotation system now this could backfire on us ... always a realist eh?

Are you just arguing for the sake of arguing or do you genuinely feel that focusing on the negatives is the way forward?
