Did Man Utd draw to newly promoted sides at Old Trafford last season?

Or has the game changed that much since last season too?

But is that record incomparably worse than our nearest rivals? No. Therefore it's far from the disaster some make out. It is clearly not great and I don't think anyone claims it is, however it is not so bad that we haven't been able to compensate with good away form. To an extent I was obviously exaggerating my point for effect but to a far lesser degree than I feel the accusation of putting out an honour guard I was responding to was.

The thing is that in perspective the last 3 games could be seen as a run of bad form at home as opposed to an irreparable problem with the way we play in home games. That may or may not be the case but it is certainly not enough games to definitively say anything more than that.

Other than West Brom every team in the division seems to have improved (markedly in the case of Hull) on the equivalent teams last year IMO.

Chelsea's record is similar at home, but the levels of their opposition at SB compared to ours at Anfield are worlds apart.

When it's nearly half our games, it looks less like a blip and more like a problem with our team/tactics.

Fair enough mate. Your point has a certain degree of truth in it, but not enough to justify our home results - neither Hull nor Stoke took anything from Old Trafford, but hey ho.

Whatever happens, there'll always be a potential excuse to use. Goes back to the mentality thing i mentioned before. A winner's mentality is to say 'the level might be higher, but we are still miles better, lets step up a level ourselves and still win'. Our mentality is one where we find excuse 'the opposition are better, so its ok not to win'.

          Wish it'd change.

It's half of a small sample. I really don't think you can say either way. Not to say that there aren't problems in the team/squad but I think that they are solvable without major changes to either the tactics or player selection (I'd like a target man added to the squad but it would be part for a plan B for me).

They drew with the relegated Reading at home.

Regardless of your opinion on the quality of the teams Chelsea have drawn against, except for the Man Utd draw, they will definately see them as games they should have won.

They have will also view losing to us and Aresnal as dropped points.

So far it's half of half our home games that we've failed to win. So basically, a quarter of our home games. It's a fair percentage and certainly at the point where the margin of error is practically none now.

Our record at home is superior to theirs, they have lost twice and won 3 times.

Considering who they've played and who we've played, i should fookin hope ours is better!

Why? They haven't lost at home in 4 years.

Why? Because they've played United, us, Arsenal, Villa and Spurs.

We've played one good team at Anfield.

Yeah and we are the only team not to lose at home in the league in 2008

They have lost twice, in games they'd expect to win and they certainly would have expected to beat Spurs under Ramos.
Notice you don't mention West Ham.

Regardless of dropping points to us, Man Utd and Arsenal, they've still drawn against three teams they will think they should have beat - Spurs, Newcaste and West Ham.

I find it hard to see how you can continue to ignore this.
