I agree mate, but it says something about his previous form when he shows an improvement and still is third choice LB, IMHO, of course. I hope he continues to improve though. But I hope Insua improves at a faster rate as I would love to see a youth player promoted under Rafa to regular first team starter.President of the Ban Smileys Society

True but we all knew that Insua was a talent before he got into the first team and Aurelio is a very good player. What ever is best for the team is all I'm interested in and I do believe that Dossena can become a useful player and will continue to improve.Originally posted by Baldemort View PostI agree mate, but it says something about his previous form when he shows an improvement and still is third choice LB, IMHO, of course. That's not fair on Insua or Rafa. I don't think anybody expected him to adapt to first team football quite as well as he did. When he had his chance he took it very well. Coming back from Argentina he may well be too tired to be at top form for the CL. Does he really have the experience for a massive game against Madrid at his age? I doubt it. Hyypia is not in the squad either, yet he has been superb this season. Rafa's mind moves in mysterious ways.Originally posted by Scratch View PostI don't think he's third choice tho...he made the CL squad, Insua didn't...says it all really.President of the Ban Smileys Society

I just pulled this from the official site:-

Question: Is Lucas good enough to establish himself as a first team regular?
It's difficult to say because he suffers from the fact he's a central midfield player and we're very, very strong in that area. Technically he's a very good player, he's a careful passer and probably needs to be a little bit more adventurous in that area. In terms of establishing himself as a first team regular at Liverpool, I think it's going to be tough.
The manager is clearly backing him and that should give him a big confidence boost. I spoke to one of the players a little while ago about Lucas and he was telling me the squad speak very highly of him. They think he's a good player. I think we all agree we haven't seen the best of him yet, we'll have to wait and see how good he can be in the future.
The answer was written by Molby, now I know they won't put negative stuff on the offical site, but even still, it's good to know the squad think highly of Lucas.

It's unlkely they are going to turn around and say that a fellow team mate is ****e. I also seem to remember a few squad members harping on about how awesome Diouf was in training. Unfortunately it doesn't always translate onto the pitch.Originally posted by ukfootballfan101 View PostI just pulled this from the official site:-

And is still in his first season in the prem too, far too early to judge whether he has what it takes imo.
