I think that Rafa is trying to make Lucas into a new Pirlo.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I reckon that's a really good point actually. If I have some-one starting a new job in my office I break them in gently by making them prove to me that they can get the simple things right before I let them loose on more complicated things where getting it wrong can be a major problem. Why should football be any different really? It fits in well with the oft quoted notion as well that Rafa sees players as 'tools' rather than 'humans'. He might be the complete player but I think Rafa wants to see his players, especially the juniors, prove it bit by bit.Originally posted by El Jefecito View PostMuch more so, he played box to box for Gremio. It's well known that Rafa deliberately had him playing in a sitting / DM role for his first year to bed him in to our way of playing and the league in general. Apparently this year, Rafa is going to give him more opportunity to be the DM that gets forward, so hopefully we'll see more of what made him the player he was at Gremio.
Of course, some players are just complete tools.Really?

Saw him in the flesh against Crewe in the CC, he was shocking. Outmuscled by Crewe players all night."Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Im not the thief who grabs your purse. Im not the guy who jacks your car. Im not down with the people who steal and hurt others. Im just a brother who fight back."

I don't think we are. I think we're looking at how average he is when he plays. Just don't think he suits our formation and way of playing. Feel a bit sorry for the guy to be honestOriginally posted by liverpooltj View PostHe is a good player but i having trouble adapting the the Prem, however we have 3 of the best midfield players in the world at our club so could it be that we are compairing him to Alonso, Mash and stevie?

no i've been doing it for ages.Originally posted by friedk View PostI believe Lucas bashing is flavour of the month
i don't agree with el jef when he compares lucas to some of the others like spearing. none of them cost 6 million.
the yossi and lucas money should have been better spent that window.

Add to that the money spent on Pennant and that's a lot of money
