what purpose would this serve? to play at right back? that would further unsettle the defence. Right Midfield? Then there was no point in signing Pennant, plus where would that leave Gerrard?

How long will it take him to settle? the other brazilian hasn't exactly filled me with confidence.

Cisses transfer will only be finalised in the summer assuming Marseilles press ahead with making it permanent

The club wont spend the money until they are 100% certain its a done deal

Also you need to remember that incoming transfer amounts do not necessarily equate to money available to spend

There are costs to every transfer particularly those who havent specifically asked for a transfer (pay-offs, loyalty bonuses etc..) which eat up a huge amount of any incoming fees

IMO we wont have enough for Alves in January unless we see some significant changes off the pitch (investment, huge sponsorship deal etc...)

You do realise I said in the first post that this is possible providing the money hasn't already been spent. And I recall reading that it was possible for Marseille to conclude the transfer in Jan, but that looks unlikely considering his recent setback.
