Dunno when people are finally going to get that this season the opposition is much better. It's no conincidence that we're all dropping points.

As for inadquecies of rivals, well, no **** sherlock, if they won every match no-one would beat them. It's always in large part due to rivals losing matches.

Maybe it's because the top four are actually worse than last year.

We need to buy a goal scoring attacker and Owen too. Yossi and Dirk in the attacking positions is worrying. Time to give Babel five games in a row now and pair Keane and Torres up front. Get your best players on the pitch. Alonso and Agger were huge losses and make us play way better.

Team selection against Everton should be interesting.
Oh the man is a midfield maestro

As usual SG ad Carra looked the only ones into the game - Torres added some but far too late.

              Yossi - Lucas - Arbeloa - Kuyt.

While everyone is being a drama queen. Was that not the same attack that put 5 past Newcastle?
Or are we just basing our entire season on one game now?

I wonder why Keane was on the bench yesterday? At what stage would he have got on? If we were 3 up and coasting? no chance, plessis would have come on. Why are linked with Heskey? He won't play. The formation is now so rigid its unbelievable. Utd throw all their attackers on, based on the opinion that the more attackers in the opposition box the more chance of a goal coming. Yet not even for 10 minutes did Rafa throw that dice.

I've never been a massive Rafa fan, he's always shown too much negativity for me. Its about not losing. BUT every now again he says or does something that makes me go 'why am I doubting him' like in the press conference, my hairs stood up on the back of the neck, I was immensley proud he's our manager, I thought it was a call to arms, the title may just be ours! Then less than 24 hours later I see the line up and know he's conned me again. I feel cheated, like your missus screwing the window cleaner and not letting you watch.

Anyone noticed a team in third with a good collection of young british players who despite not having a gerrard or a torres or half what we've had to spend or the ability to entice the top players due to no CL are only 4 points behind us. No long ball football either. Ah well thats another matter entirely.

Come on Rafa we have a chance this year despite your woeful selections, just let the players kick on from here. Let them win it rather than you. I kept thinking what Carra or Gerrard must of thought when they saw the line up. They knew we'd struggle.

One last thing, stop moaning about the ref, we've become spoilt. Stoke played rough but fair. There were no bone crunchers. Too many have forgotten how football used to be. They are trying against all odds to survive, good luck to them. Bitching just sounds like sour grapes.

Strongest team against Preston and not the stongest team today ? What the ****.

Dirk is **** up front by himself. EVERYONE KNOWS THAT. So why do it ?

Lucas, you are ****ing useless lad, **** off.

Yossi, you are not good enough.

A sixty million pound bench ? What is the ****ing point ? Play them from the start Rafa. You ****ing bought these players. Use them.

                      NEVER BEEN THIS PISSED OFF.

If the mancs win tomorrow this weekend will go down as the turning point.

****s sake. What a ****ing waste.
+1 mate. Absolute disgrace. I dont really think it matters what the result is between the red and blue ****e today, Raffa again has proved he worries about the opposition too much. I mean 1 up front against Stoke? I'm sorry but very poor judgment, and not the first time this season.

We hammer the Toon, full strength against Preston, have a week to prepare for an evening kick off and he serves that up?

                      A f*cking joke.

Look at the points dropped this season:
                      Stoke (4 points home&away)
                      Hull (2 at home)
                      Fulham (2 at home)
                      West Ham (2 at Home)

10 points in total. Not going to win a legaue dropping points like that, I'm sorry.

It would be just as stupid as saying we're going to walk all over them [in the second leg]. I can always supply silly answers to silly questions...... Yes, the tie is over, but we have to play them anyway."

But it is the same attacking line up as we had at Newcastle. So maybe it was just a bad performance by the team rather than an insane line up.

Newcastle think they are a footballing side and dont make it hard for top teams or do the dirty work. Stoke know there limits and play as a team and are horrible to play against. They are well organised and are good at stiffling opposition. Newcastle try to outplay teams like us because that's what their deluded fans think should happen. I would say Newcastle is one of our easiest games of the season whereas Stoke is not.

So the tactics of 2 holding midfielders, playing Kuyt upfront etc.. didn't work but blame the 11 players who started not Rafa.
Reina - Shakey and frankly looked scared.
Aurelio - Didn't get over the half way line once to help the attack
Carra - Usual solid performance, at least he tried to overlap and cross.
Hyppia - Back to his usual, painfully slow launch it upfield form.
Skrtel - So, so, just back from injury so excused.
Mascher - Rubbish, Lucas gets all the stick but he has been terrible all season.
Lucas - Poor game after beginning to show promise, was let down by Mascher imo
Reira - Flitted in and out, shouldn't have been taken off as tried to provide width
Benny - Worse than average, Gerrard nevers gets as much space when Benny plays as he is always wandering inside.
Gerrard - Didn't look interested, no effort, no inspiration
Kuyt - Not a striker as long as he's got a hole in his ass.

The players took the praise against Bolton and Newcastle so they take 100% of the blame for that performance, they followed up Rafa's attack with a spineless performance.

Masch was poor, Lucas struggled at times - some sweet passes but not consistent, Gerrard seemed like he only wanted to play when his "bezzie" mate Nando came on (but at same time agree Benni takes up his space to many times without result). Certainly would have left Riera on also for width
                            'and boy could he play!.

A poor Newcastle side. I wouldn't be surprised if United and Chelsea later in the season slap five against them. Stoke's defence are far more watertight in comparison to Newcastle - only Rafa would think otherwise by picking Shuyt up front.
