I don't think as foreign owners they've done too much wrong this season. last season they ****ed up. but it looks like they've learnt from it. its not their fault whats happened in the global market. no one is building stadiums at present. we've spent money on players. its not their fault that rafa blew most of the budget on a player that clearly doesn't fit his preferred system.Originally posted by REDrascal View PostThe alternative is the Press doing it, with rumour of what Rafa thinks or may have said, that will piss H&G off equally, i will back Rafa before those two fools every day.

The irony here is immense, is it not Hicks who also wants rid of parry, i don't think we all have the facts here, lets just see how it develops before as most seem to be doing and slagging of our manager.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostI don't think as foreign owners they've done too much wrong this season. last season they ****ed up. but it looks like they've learnt from it. its not their fault whats happened in the global market. no one is building stadiums at present. we've spent money on players. its not their fault that rafa blew most of the budget on a player that clearly doesn't fit his preferred system.

Oh by the way, when if Rafa does walk as 'elvos' seems to be worried he's planning towards, H&G will likely install a yes man, who won't pressure for top players, or moan about anything.Last edited by Vermilion; 16-01-09, 01:19 PM.

I don't believe he is trying to force anybody's hand - he has stated he's happy with the length and financial terms of the contract. If that is all that he was looking out for he would have signed it by now.Originally posted by elvoz View Postthe fear here is he doesnt fancy us for the league and knows we may struggle from now on
thus trying to force hands for a new contract
ive said it before 3rd or 4th aint no good to me
clever fella is rafa
I genuinely believe he has the football club's best interest at heart and maybe feels to take us onto the next level he needs to assume control of the academy (how many players have broken through, it not as though we haven't brought a few in) and transfers in and out of the club.Last edited by cled the red; 16-01-09, 01:25 PM.

Maybe Keane wasn't a priority signing for Benitez? I think he would have preferred to sign Gareth Barry.Originally posted by jonric View PostWhy didn't Rafa say he would put contract talks on hold until the end of the season ? If we had won the Prem he would have been in an incredibly strong position to demand whatever he wanted with backing from fans and players. Instead it disrupts our season and if we end up with nothing at the end of the season he is in a weak position...has he lost faith in the team/his ability and does he think that this is his strongest moment ?
If I was an owner looking at giving him full control over the transfers I would have to ask him about Keane - £20+million and not playing ? That cannot have helped his case.
At the end of the day though its support the manager and get coco the clown out !

its only natural that if you own something you'll want a degree of control. its also natural they'd prefer to work with someone that didn't give them so much hassle. and if a yes man got results then most folk would be happy. if that yes man didn't produce the goods, what benefit would this be to the owners?Originally posted by REDrascal View PostOh by the way, when if Rafa does walk as 'elvos' seems to be worried he's planning towards, H&G will likely install a yes man, who won't pressure for top players, or moan about anything.
Perhaps I'm not seeing the true picture and they are the enemy, in which case I'll eat a **** sandwich and grovel in the corner balancing a machete on my nose.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

Run the club as cheaply as possible raking in the merchandising and tv cash, Hicks has already stated PUBLICLY that winning is not the be all and end all for making money from LFC, but Rafa is a floor in that plan as he wants the best players so he can win trophies and get LFC back where we belong, not settling for mediocrity, and not just having a full time prem job with big bucks and no pressure, which a yes man would be happy with.. .Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View Postits only natural that if you own something you'll want a degree of control. its also natural they'd prefer to work with someone that didn't give them so much hassle. and if a yes man got results then most folk would be happy. if that yes man didn't produce the goods, what benefit would this be to the owners?

No, obviously i could be wrong and you right, but i just think this jumping on Rafa by so many was a little bit wrong, he's a man of principals is all, and is fed up with Parry's inadequacies. imo.
As a matter of fact Hicks and Rafa could be in this together to get shut of Parry, who really knows, not us for sure.

That would be my understanding too. You’ve only got to see some of the prices the Scum have paid for some players to see that.
