We simply lack character to take games to other teams. In more simplistic terms, we lack the bottle. Is it Benitez or do the players feel the strain of being at the top? Did Benitez have a Gallas moment thus this is our capitulation? Do teams see Liverpool as less of a threat than United thus raising their game which we can't match?
I remember Graeme Souness talking after we beat United and what Paisley and Moran used to say to the side. He said, 'If the team matches them for effort, the team should win because we had better players. So if they go in for a tackle, we would go in for a tackle'
We clearly do have better players, do we lack effort? I personally so. We sometimes show a bit too much disrespect to the opposition and think we will beat them. I say, get them ruffled from the first couple of minutes and beat them to everything.
Teams at Anfield are more than happy to allow us to win the first balls as long as they win the second, we need to have the fighting spirit to win every battle on the pitch. United for instance win every ball no matter what the score, if they are winning 5-0 or drawing 0-0. Its about putting that message across to other teams. Yesterday for instance, by us sitting on a 1-0 lead and not really dominating possession after the goal and creating more chances, we gave Everton the incentive to score and credit to them, they did.
Teams will come to Anfield and play in the exact same manner till the end of the season and we will drop more points because we lack that aggressive streak, that competitiveness, the nerve, the bottle to throw the gauntlet not only to the opposition but the rest of the Premiership especially United, Chelsea, Villa and Arsenal.

Absolutely correct. We haven't had a good spell this season. We have played absolutely awful this season, some real unattractive football. At least toward the end of last season, we looked good going forward and solid at the back but this has been really piss poor recently. United whilst playing badly gain three points, we drop points. Shows how good we are when the pressure is on.
