Mate, they're everton, not Barcelona. Hanging on against them is a positive?Originally posted by Slinky Skills View PostDo you know what, **** it. We lost end of. Fair do's to Everton on winning, we didn't deserve it over the course of both games.
And before anyone starts bashing Lucas. Yeah it was a bad foul but his first card was a bit harsh. I think he has the potential to succeed at this club. Some positives were that we held on that for long, the guys played well but it was just too much in the end. It was inevitable that they'd score. Also the support tonight by the travelling fans was excellent. You are all a testament to this club.
Lets look to the future now. Lets get them cunts in a few weeks at their own place the ****ers.
Each to their own of course, but i find that mentality staggering.

In terms of what we want from the team this season i wouldn't go as far as saying it was meaningless, more so the less of our priorities.Originally posted by Joey Jones View PostHow can you say that it's a meaningless game? It's the FA Cup FFS, does that mean that our final wins in this cup are also meaningless?

I was willing to give Lucas the benefit of the doubt, and he may have been 'ok' otherwise, but he made a few challenges tonight (and against Wigan...) which you wouldn't expect in a schoolboy knock about game. And this from a defensive midfielder who's supposed to be tackling... He may have distributed ok.. but then he's there to tackle and distribute, and one of those he can't do.. and if he can't get the first one right, there ain't much of the second.Really?

I am sure Keane would have been a better option to play when Gerrard had to go off. That place is his natural one - and he copes better with the physical aspect than Benny.
Dossena did well, when it came to overlaps and trying some crosses, but to me it seemed like most of the dangerous strikes from Neverton came from their rigth - through the side, where Dossena had to take care. So to me he seem very hot and cold....
Lucas did play well compared to several others - was hacked and nickeled down by first Piinear, then the other evertonias - and being in those physical situations, some are going to be sent off. Today it was Lucas - another day it is ....
Riera - was dancing around in the first half - and very quiet - had two fast runs - and then the goalattempt. Pretty low from a LF!
Torres did drop the game, when Gerrard went off - you could see how his head went down, how he withdrew himself from tackles and didn't run som fast..
SO - is it down to one player or one situation, that we lost? No - in my opinion it isn't.- - - - -

Yeah of course I am..in the grand scheme of things though I'm happy to let Everton have their moment. This, after all, will be the pathetic highlight of their season closely followed by Gerrard getting injured today. They are unbelievably small time and any stick I may get I'll happily laugh offOriginally posted by L10 View Postwiw, are you not in the slightest disappointed?
Some players had bad games, but our defence was rock solid and we were always up against it after the sending off.
To be honest the most disappointing thing for me is the standard of refereeing in England..it's starting to really piss me offSack swinging like Dub-D40 on a door hinge

That might be true but we've just lost to Everton in the cup FFS, we should be pissed off that we've lost and not just say that it's a meaningless competition.Originally posted by Marc. You say that as if the Premier League are now going to engrave our name on the PL trophy. Losing tonight doesnt exactly mean we're going to win the title.
