Crap article imo, kopites mistrust him or dislike him because he's good, this all started once we found out he was a prodigious talent or something like and started acting like he was a great player, or words to that effect, what ****e.

They can all act like Gerrard if they play like him imo, he's not so bad compared to some who know they have a god given talent, give me Stevie G every day of the week on that score.

Is this Gerrard Adulation similar to the Liddell Effect?

Billy Liddell was a star in an average Liverpool team before Shankly came along so the comparison can be made for Gerrard pre-Benitez era. Since Benitez came along with the other stars we have today in our team, does Gerrard's star shine as bright for us? Or have we allocated our idolism to the other stars such as Torres, Alonso etc.

Just a thought...BTW I know Liddell was on his last legs when Shankly came but he still had that factor for the fans!
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

As much as I love both of them neither Alonso or Torres is in the same class.

Aye, but nowadays I do not feel the dread in my bones when Gerrard is out like I used to!
That would be down to the likes of Alonso, etc.

Mind you, maybe feeling a little apprehensive about Sunday seeing that this game has come too soon for Gerrard & Alonso is suspended!...means that little Lucas is back from his suspension & available to play against City!...woe!

Would like to see Aurelio getting another go in Midfield on the left along with Mascherano playing libero & Benayoun in the Gerrard role then with Kuyt & Reira on the outsides.
I think Insua will start to give that left side a good balance.

I agree on Xabi but I think Torres is, he's a world class striker. In fact I think he's better than Gerrard was at 24.

Pre-Rafa we still had Owen who was as big a star if not bigger than Gerrard, and also our main match winner.

Since then Gerrard has been instrumental is our greatest victories, so his reputation and value only enhanced.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
