I know how they feel because the pressure is now immense. For me, this is Fergusons last chance of ever drawing level with us on 18 titles each.

Man Utd as a club may one day get another chance, but Fergies time will be almost up and leave him with to much to do. My guess is that he was seriously tempted to retire last year, but saw 18 titles on the horizon and got greedy.

Win it this year and we can well and truly tell him we are "Back on our ****ing perch". Will be the best feeling ever, especially if we won the European Cup as well in the bargain

Personally I'd settle right now for a Premiership title and a non english club winning the champions league. Add an Everton FA cup win (for the 96) and that is a perfcet season for me.

Oh, for the Mancs quintuple to end up as a crappy world club cup and the worthless cup
      Forwards.......

I will add that Fergie himself sees the 18 league titles as some sort of crusade for him. There is no getting past the fact that Ferguson has put the CL on the line by not moving the Villa fixture.

To play on the Tuesday after Sunday is folly.

Three cheers for Emile to finally redeem himself on the big stage. As for Barry, he can help his transfer prospects to us by scoring against the scum.

Thing is though danny, he'll have Scholes, Rooney & Vidic all back for the Porto game, fresh as anything. It's a calculated risk but i can see why he's done it. They'll easily have enough to dispatch Porto.

You can see why, but to me it is because he wants the league more than anything. No question the game would have been moved to Saturday had they had the league wrapped up (ie, drawn with us at OT).

He could not afford to do that this time, and he is seriously underestimating FC Porto if he thinks he can beat them with no rest what so ever in between games. Yes, Vidic, Scholes and Rooney coming back help out, but even then two of them would have likely played two internationals in a week, hardly fit and fresh.

I just feel that this week is a massive one for United. Two wins out of two and they'll be breathing a sigh of relief and will feel they will have weathered the storm. Any less and they will still be feeling slightly anxious.

A defeat to Villa and the wheels could come of on two fronts.

It won't be easy I can assure you, especially if they **** up against Villa. Porto have nothing to lose and even though they aren't a fantastic side, they possess enough talented players to cause trouble to United if they aren't in the right frame of mind.

This is money time and every game counts. United need to get back to basics quickly to regain confidence and try to scrape for wins. If they don't, they'll get into trouble, I can assure you that.

Personally I'd swap a single league point for even Chelsea or mancs winning the CL this season.

Spent so long dreaming of it it's become the mythical beast that must be slayed.

Once past it we'll be able to move onto greatness again, but we must slay it.

Yeah, I saw some asking for it last season when Chelsea almost caught them.

In the final of the CL (before it was played) and still favourites for the league and the fickle ****ers wanted him gone just from a few bad results.

                    Loving that too!!!!!

I'm dreaming of the double too, however EPL comes 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc etc for me at the moment.

No matter how great other things are, comparatively they're insignificant.

And I'd be more than happy to sacrifice them for a better chance in the league.

Well in hindsight going out of the FA cup probably did us a world of good.

Two ways of looking at the CL.

Winning breeds confidence so naturally I would want us to beat the Chavs and march on. But defeat would mean extended rest for our players and could bring about a better title challenge, due to more freshness.

I'm just glad we are in a position to think about which we'd rather win!

Alright, I admit it. We got the red bottom treatment on Wednesday. That would have made it 5 down with 11 to go. But normal service was resumed today thanks to Fernando and Co. Now we are at 6 down with 10 to go. As for the return leg at Chelsea, we will be successful. Mark my words. We owe them a good hiding.

**** me we deserve it so much this year.

Look at our form over the last month. We LOOK like champions and are playing like champions.

Yea Utd have the points on the table and have had late winners and a lot of 1-0's. But we've really played football this season - we've played the best football here since the Evans era. We've had a lot of late winners but from when we've gone behind (Wigan, City etc), however Utd have been winning 1-0 with a lot of late goals, making a lot of 1-0's. Surely we should be getting more credit??

When Mourinho used to spout stuff like 'the best team lost' etc I was always saying 'wtf are you talking about'. However if we don't win the PL this year it would be ****ing criminal. Criminal. I know we've drawn some ****ty games but hell, over 38 matches, we look the ****ing part.

I'd have snapped your hand off in August to be in this position now. It may be too little, too late, however we've got Utd on the back foot and they look ****. It would be a travesty for us not to win it this year. If Utd did win the league then they'd be the worst team - over a season - ever to win the PL. Just a shame that a lot of teams haven't got the bottle to attack them. Shame on Villa last week for bending over. Cisse & Jones vs Neville in his current state? They should've killed him and hit 3. Fulham just after Christmas saying it'd be a miracle to get anything from Utd? **** off.

We're only going to get stronger now so the rest of the PL had better watch out.

The loss to Chelsea may be a blessing in disguise. Rafa and the lads had built great momentum but we may have gotten sloppy. We need 110% effort and 200% concentration from everyone on the field. The Two goal deficit is no big deal. We have played better away from home all season. Rafa should just send the lads out with all guns blazing.
