DJS no-one has said the fans are to blame but surely even you can see we don't help the situation.

We expect the players to get up for Stoke, Fulham and City at home but we can't be arsed.

Yes the players get paid **** loads of money but by the same token Liverpool is our religion our passion yet we sit on our arses and moan and groan in between bites of our heart burn pies.
But I still don't understand this when our home support is as good as any of our main rivals. It shouldn't be a particular disadvantage for us.

If motivation from the crowd makes such a huge difference to out level of performance, players and manager need to look at themselves and ask why they need more motivation from outside the dressing room than others.

Never implied that it was an explanation either. It is obvious where I stand and what I am trying to argue; supporters play their part, win or lose.

But we are discussing the fact that our home support is lacking FFS.

Ok, but the dip in our play at home in many games this season was far too significant to be explained by this, or even this in combination with being unlucky or a few players being a bit off the boil.

Yes, with reference to CL games in the main. Our home support isn't lacking with reference to saturday/sunday afternoon games in the PL and this is a more appropriate measure.

Look everyone, its a bunny with a pancake on its head.....

I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among

By others I presume you mean United? I mean they are the only ones with more points than us this seasn.

Flip that round and why are places like Stoke and Portsmouth hard places to get results? The atmosphere at those grounds are fantastic.

Do you not think if we the fans were up for it like we were on Tuesday for every home game it would help the players?

It's stupid to say we are at fault of course the players who are payed vast sums of money should be up for every game but surely you can see it gives the players a lift and can help the situation.

At the end of the day the cream always rises to the top that's why the same teams get relegated and the same teams finish in the top 4.

I'm not sure that follows to be honest. Pompey was always hard to win at, mainly because they made it hard for you and had a good manager. Stoke play it rough and dont let you play. I dont think it's really about their fans taking credit for it. Fulham have a great home record, but the atmosphere is ****e. We always struggle at Boro and they rarely even sell out, let alone generate a good atmosphere.

I dont dispute the notion that the fans can lift the players, of course that's true and nobody should argue with it. But the main responsibility to perform belongs to the players, they're the ones who earn the right to be on the pitch and they're the ones who have to maintain that level of performance to justify their presence and wages.

Yep, it's simple English...it means that the crowd is not soley to blame (it's not the crowd's fault) but that the crowd must shoulder some of the respnsibility (the crowd is at fault). Same words, different meaning.
