Me too Stig, trouble was they continued to play poorly and managed to get very lucky wins/dodgy pens to lift them out of it. Now they're home and hosed, still having room to cock up slightly and yet win it easily.

    Only ****ing United.

I blame our players for the poor results at home tbh. We should have wrapped the title up by now to be fair.

Yep, the poor results at home look like they're going to cost us the ultimate prize.

And to think, those of us who suggested that they might do just that, were abused and mocked. If only it was a mock-worthy suggestion.

Agree there mate. Hopefully it will be great experience for the guys next season knowing those silly draws have cost us big time this year and to make sure it never happens again.

Also Rafa would have learnt a lot this year when it comes to fielding a team capable of winning. Put out your best team then sub and rest them when we are winning the game which he seems to have learnt now.

Lets face it we have been the best team in the league this year and some crazy team selections have cost us in the end. Never the less to see liverpool still in the title hunt come may is all i wanted at the start of the season and we a too good not to win the league soon. The only thing united have on us is Ronaldo.

              I hope two things.

1 - that the experience will lead to the same mistakes not being repeated.

2 - that we get the same chance to win it next year.

                Really!?!?

If you draw a ridiculous amount of games, especially at home, to sides we should really be beating then it's gonna cost you.

However, if you said at the start of the season we'd only lose twice you'd expect we'd win it also. To think if just two of those draws were wins we'd be right in it and three we'd be clear favourites. If only Torres and Gerrard were fit for the majority of the season.

Just shows we're good enough, we just need a couple more first 18 players of real quality.

People had a go and dismissed it with things like "halfway through the season, we're top/2nd/3rd in the league, x points off top spot and you're whinging? get a life, stop moaning" etc etc etc.

"Drama Queens" and "Knee Jerkers" were the common phrase back then. I know there is going to be upsets during the season when a team or two lower down the league will get a result from us. But when it happens too often like it did this season, I hope people can now see that these games have now ultimately cost us No 19...... But i still hope im proved wrong.

For the record I still think it has been a fantastic season, we are back where we belong for the first time in a long time: Challenging for the title.

Oh yeah cos Rafa consistently took off our best players when we were drawing and played weakened sides all the time. Our squad simply hasnt had the depth to compete in previous seasons and he's had to prioritise the CL to get prize money in so we can buy players to compete in the league.

Maybe crazy is a bit harsh, but at the end of a home 0-0, seeing two strikers having been left on the bench when we've needed a goal, is frustrating.

I think the majority of posters on here were/are fully aware that it's the amount of draws which will probably ultimately cost us this year. I think mainly people were reacting to people calling for the managers head when we were up there challenging and it was the width of a post here an injury to Torres there, a bad decision etc which has cost us those crucial extra few points.

To be fair, there wasnt many really calling for the manager's head - rather, just criticising poor decisions which led to poor results - which have cost us.

People may have been aware, but they were still dismissing criticisms with stuff like 'shut up we are still top' blah blah...etc.

As much as the draws have cost us this year there is no denying that we are playing the best football we have ever seen under rafa and houllier. Rafa has fine tuned the squad over the past 4 years to now resemble his machine he had at valencia.

I remember when he brought his valencia side to Anfield in the CL and they tore us apart with Amair and co. We now play like that or very close to IMO. It is a joy to watch.

Lets see what the summer brings
