Automatic three match ban is only for dangerous play.Straight red or not.denying a goal scoring op. is one match.

Didn't know the FA could devise rules such as complicated and prone to subjectiveness as that.

One for the red and another one due it being his second of the season = 2 game ban.

+ one for being his second straight suspension?

He will miss the fulham and villa game then as the suspension comes into effect right away. That will do for me

Yep, and +1 for being an ugly cunt, +1 for being publicly pulverised and humiliated by Fernando Torres, +1 for claiming to the ref that Gerrard had hold of his shirt, and +1 more for mouthing the word "cheat" towards Stevie as he sprinted off.

United without Vidic is a completely different prospect ...much of there success or luck this season has been relent on the fact that they are very difficult to score against .. the longer they remain at 0-0 the more the find it easy to get that jammy tap in .. teams will fancy it now .. Ferdinand is very error prone when under presser VDS is no where near as good as Pepe or Cech .. The Pressure is on

While I agree it is a big blow I really struggle to remember Ferdinand making big blunders and Evans has looked sound this season. It is true though that much like Stevie said post game seeing them humbled like yesterday might well give other teams the idea that they are vulnerable. Especially coming soon after what was by all accounts a lacklustre performance against Inter and the game where Blackburn nearly got something against them.

                              The right answer I reckon.
