The point is though that with zero evidence (or in fact some mild unreliable evidence against the point) you are assuming that you can read someone elses opinion. It seems bizarre to try and add credibility to your point by saying you think it is likely Gerrard agrees with you even though the only quotes we have access to would indicate that he has the opposite view. It's the evidence for other peoples points of view which I think is important. You can safely assume that most people know what you think on most topics already.

Whether intentionally or not your posts often come across as if you believe that there is only one opinion on a topic which is valid which is that which agrees with your own even in multifaceted subjective judgments.

Of course i dont think there is only one opinion, that would be ridiculous. Now i've said that, could people stop making ludicrous accusations?

Some people's opinions are that Gerrard thinks Lucas is a really good player, that's fine.

Mine is that he probably thinks he's decent, but not Liverpool class. Which might be what the majority of those who dont express an LFC bias also think. That is of course, unless virtually every single fan, pundit, player, manager, commentator and the like who i've heard comment on Lucas, was lying. Maybe they were.

The stick Lucas comes in for baffles me. I thought he did pretty well last year for his first season in the PL. Not only was it his first season in England (the hardest league in the world, if you hadn't heard), but he was 20(?) and he'd just moved from Brazil (not exactly across the channel).

He dealt very well. He's improved this season, also. There are stand out performances at both ends, as you'd expect for a developing young player.

You also have to remember that he's compared to three of the best central midfield players in the world, in Gerrard, Mascherano and Alonso. I rate the guy, and I think he'll turn into a pretty decent player.

Possibly. But the point is, if he doesnt rate him (which is more likely, IMO), he cant come out and say it.

So what should Gerrard do? Go on TV and suck Lucas off to prove he rates him.

You don't rate Lucas but it appears SG does and you find that a bit hard to take it seems.

12-18 months ago I was defending Rafa when you didn't rate him. Yet you changed your mind and did rate him in October. Then you didn't again and I have no idea, nor do i care, if you rate him now.

In 2 years time you will rate Lucas and I for one will not care because your opinion is worthless to me as you will forever be known as "Mr Flip Flop".

On a serious note I personally think Lucas will develop into a very good player for us. If not he will definitely forge a great career somewhere. We just need to be patient and remember not every player will be at Xabi, Mascher or Gerrard level in CM.

I agree. I think if he was to play his trade in Spain or Italy where its slower he could turn out to be a top player.

Also for some reason I think Lucas would thrive in the Arsenal team. His style would suit their one touch short passing. But he's ours so they can sod off.

Fingers crossed he develops with us coz he has the makings of being a top footballer and I'd be gutted if it wasn't with us.
