Oh I'd definitiely given up at half time in the CL final. Anyone who says they didn;t is either a liar or a loon. I was sat with my cousin in stunned silence and disbelief. I remember exactly what i was thinking at that time "this is the end of Liverpool as a big club"

Smicer's was the crucial goal because it followed so quickly from the first one. We still had 35 mins to get another one to draw level.

Half-time in Istanbul and I went to lie down, gutted to the core. Really did not fancy watching the rest of the game, fearing a real humiliation given the way Milan were playing. But I just had to watch, it was impossible to ignore the game and I had waited over 20 years for us to get to another final FFS. My eyes were shut during the penalties though lol!!

I too thought this thread would be self confessional.

I can't remember the exact year, but during the 1990s I went to great lengths to arrange a business trip to Strasbourg to coincide with us playing them in Europe. We won the home leg 2-0, but it was a huge mistake to go there cos they thrashed us 3-0. At least my boss paid for the ticket and the hotel!

I said at half time if they can score 3 in the first half, we can get three in the second, then thought nah.

I jokingly laughed at the first goal, when we scored the second I was walking the towards the toilets turned around to watch the game and went mental with a bunch of people I dont know.

Didn't watch the 2nd half, went outside the pub @ half time & never returned until after the pens, just stood outside listening to the goals go in. My theory was that if i returned to my seat Milan would score again.......

I have to say, that night there were Arse, Bitters & even mancs celebrating liverpool's come back around me; it truely was a one-off night.

I sat in the pub with my head in my hands during half time. I remember my mate saying "well we're either going to get humiliated or it's going to be the most amazing comeback of all time" and I just gave him a look.

I watched it in an upstairs room in Leeds and apparently the pub downstairs was packed but everyone ****ed off outside at half time and it wasn't until Smicer scored that everyone legged it back in.

This thread truly is brinigng back memories of the greatest day in my life. All the emotions. It feels like yesterday. My mate a scum fan, for some reason wanted us to win and celebrated as much as me when the final Shevchenko penalty was saved. An amazing day.

I remember there being a pretty nice (slightly tubby, possibly a size 10-12 - of that doesn't make her tubby) scouse woman, with brown hair and she had a Liverpool top on. She was sat in seats in front of me and my mates in a bar. She kept turning around to celebrate every goal we scored and for some reason she kept trying to celebrate with me! I blanked her everytime cos I'm a ****! She was then sharing her emotions with my mate. When we finally won, she actually walked over to me and said something about us winning. In hindsight, I should have held her hand through the penalty shootout, given her a hug (and simultaneously try to squeeze her bum with my hand ) when we won!

I also remember that earlier on in that day, I had an exam. I was in my final year at Uni. I wore my Liverpool top to that exam and actually puked durig the exam. Some of it when on the floor whilst I was running to the toilet and unfortunately some of it went on my top. I didn't care though - I washed the puke off the shirt in the toilet (and wasted 15 minutes of my exam) and wore it in the bar. Despite my attempts to clean it, I can confirm my shirt did still stink of puke.

After the we had won, I celebrated for a couple more hours and then...

...went to revise for another exam which I had the next day.
