Summer Signings: what do we need? who do you want?

we have a very good first 11 at the moment, and what diference does it make who i put in my first eleven..if rafa has 20 very good players to choose from, i very much expect him to pick the in-form ones.

regarding my team...i did put ribery in there and that is a hell of an improvment

What we need the most:
1) An impact player who can score 10-15 goals/season and capable of providing a few assists. With Gerrard and Torres in AM and striker positions, a winger would be ideal.
2) Squad strength at RB, CM and probably a striker also, if Rafa feels Babel or N'gog are not yet good enough to start as the lone striker.

What I want:
Frank Ribery-25-30m
Stephane Mbia- Rennes box-to-box/CM - 8m
Maicon(Not probable though) - Excellent RB and can cover for LB too. Can add some much needed goals through headers from attacking set-pieces. - 10m(?)

If we get Eto'o and barry in the summer that will do me! Anyoe who thinks we dont need Eto'o or question his attitude just look at his goal scoring record the guy is a goal machine! He has 12 months on his contract and it looks like he isn't going to sign a new one. We could get one of the best strikers in the world for about £18 to £20m.

We sold Keane for a reason and Eto'o could be that reason. I have no doubt that rafa has sent out feelers to his agent to see if somthing can happen and the news might be good.

Torres and Eto'o up front would be fantastic. Torres ripped the mancs defence apart a few weeks and just imagine what a torre eto'o partnership would do!

Whilest the thought of Barry signing for us doesn't set the pulse rating like say, Villa, Quaresma or Ribery I think for 8mil he would be too good to knock back. As mentioned he can cover a number of spots for us and would represent a great bit of business.

I'm not so sure about Eto though. I have no doubts about his ability but more a concern about his reported big headedness. If there's any chance that he could cause friction in the dressing room then no thanks.

I still think proper competition for our right side of Arbeloa and Kuyt is a must. I really think that is one area we really struggle when either of those 2 players are unavailable.

Other than that a striker to replace Keane is needed as we are definately short of cover in that position.

By all reports we have approx 30 mill + sales to spend so i think to optimise the quality of players for that money we should buy no more than 3 1st team players this summer.

And not Glen Johnson for right back if Arby goes..he still cannot defend.
Full backs must be able to defend.

I'd like a big physical striker as well. To knock the **** out of those two rough up Torres.

We need:

1. A Right Back
2. A Right Winger
3. A Striker

I want:
1. Glen Johnson (would provide good competition for Arbeloa and a good attacking option when we play teams who stick 10 men behind the ball) £12m
2. Aaron Lennon (yes he's a little bit inconsistent, and his final ball needs improving, but he is young and will just get better and better. He's exactly what we need to compliment Kuyt - quick, skillfull and direct) He'd do brilliantly for us in the type of games i've mentioned above. £18m
3. This one is tricky. Ideally we want someone as back-up to Torres but who can score goals when called upon. Michael Owen would be a good and cheap option, but do we need someone who is reliable in terms of fitness? Michael may be better with less games to have to play. FREE

I'd be happy with that and for about £30m, i think its perfectly realistic. The fact that Lennon has recently signed a new contract may be a sticky point, but i'm sure if we put up the money, they couldn't turn it down (a la Keane & Berbatov).
