It will give them a lift in the form of relief but I don't think they will be exactly brimming with confidence next game .. there is a nervousness to there games these days .. In the back of there mind they know we are breathing down there neck and looking good
For all those negatives, they still have more points than us - maybe writing them off as a team which doesnt gel and isnt very good (as you seem to be doing) isnt really very accurate.

Liverpool haven't got the right mentality and can't kill off games according to a lot of pundits. We only have 1 point less (up to a max of 4 if you take the game in hand into consideration) If we aren't good enough then United aren't that much better are they.
The best team will only be known at the end of the season, yes we can have opinions but we will have to wait and see and that is when we can be accurate.

I didnt say we arent good enough.

I didnt say they are much better than us.

Apart from being totally wrong about what i said, your reply is a good one.

Actually I disagree ... I think they have been extremely fortunate with at least a half a dozen results in the Lg. There defence is starting to look less sure of its self which has been the foundation of there success this season... ala .. we might not know were the goal is coming from but at least we will not conceed ... not the case now .. I am not convinced with the Tezev Rooney Ronaldo combination .. Berbatov has been a complete and utter failure as far as I am concerned .. too easily loses interest if not going his way. Rooney looks increasingly frustrated at having to do most of Ronaldos work and like I said they have not been all that all season ... It would be a complete and utter Travisty if they win the Lg this season .. Worse than Joses boring lot of grinders .. at least they played decent if not ugly football .. United for a Title winning team just have not been up to scratch

I'm not disputing that there's areas of concern for them, but the way you're painting it, they're rubbish, with no good players and no chance of winning the title. That's clearly not true.

As for lucky, luck doesnt win league titles, i'm sorry. They've had some fortune, so have we. Our wins against Boro and Wigan at Anfield werent really deserved. Swings and roundabouts mate.

I'm not saying they're perfect or anything of the sort, but they're not on 68 points due to luck and if they win the title, like any winners of a league over 10 months, they'll have done it by being the best side. Maybe only by a small margin, but the fact remains.

It's all Jan Molby and Alan Green's fault.

Was listening to the game whilst driving and after Villa went ahead they completely wrote off Utd.

I am not saying its all luck or they are ****e .. obviously they are not, but for a title winning said they very clearly are ****e. They have not been the best side of the course of the season. They get the rub of green something rotten because of who they are and Fergesons unhealthy grip on the game I feel 3rd place would be a accurate assessment of were they should be right now.

That's nonsense and sounds almost like something a bitter would say about us.

Agreed. Let's not forget that they were utterly abysmal against Fulham and us in their previous two games. Yesterday we'd have put 6 past them if we'd been the opposition, so laughable was their defensive play. Villa sat back after getting the second goal when they looked like creating a chance every time they attacked.

They do rely disproportionately on Ronaldo's set-pieces as you say. In fact I'd like to see how many goals they get from set-pieces in total. I mentioned this to a Man U fan I know before we played them as I was quite confident they wouldn't score against us in open play (he bet that they'd get 2 in open play, so I picked up an easy £20).

Also their goal scoring has been heavily skewed by the 18 goals they've scored in 5 games against the three promoted teams. In fact if you take away the 5 they got at Premier League whipping boys West Brom, they've only scored 13 goals in their other 12 away games, so there's no reason to suppose that they'll find goals any easier to score in their remaining away games

No surprise that it's you once again leaping to Man U's defence and bristling with indignation at any hint of criticism of them.

I admit I've turned into a defeatest in recent years.

I personally reckon yesterdays game was THE defining game in the run in. From 2-1 down with a load of first teamers out they claw out a win. Fair play to them they have done it for years now, they throw caution to the wind and have options on the bench. They're not afraid to lose.

I think we lost it by being caution early season, just by going all out attack at home against one of the weaker teams could have swung it for us.

I can see Utd will winning all their games and god help us, winning all 5 trophies.

BUT this season is very weird and maybe just maybe it'll turn in our favour. One things for sure we HAVE to win all our games. Then its out of our hands and in the hands of the gods, I'm praying they'll feel its time for a change.

If it goes to the wire & Utd still win it, that would be like they've prolonged our agony. As it is I've got a bruised leg, ankle and wrist from this weekends games alone. Football eh.

Come off it. We're 30 games into a season and they are top of the league. There is absolutely no argument to make about them being **** or lucky or whatever. Of course they've got points they didn't deserve, as have we, but it does nobody any favours to be blinkered.

"Also their goal scoring has been heavily skewed by the 18 goals they've scored in 5 games against the three promoted teams. "

And why couldn't have we done the same out of interest?

Perhaps the rub of the green was not exactly the best description .. visting teams to Old Trafford especially lower table teams get absolutely no help from the officals whats so ever.

Craig you can say it as you please.. we disagree .. I do not think they deserve the title this season, I beleive we do over all other teams and I have a feeling we will get our just rewards. I believe we can go out and batter teams till the end of the season, i dont think they can .. and that is what it boils down to
