Just read it now, looks like he's feeling the pressure somewhat.Originally posted by NeonPeon View PostThe site has been updated with its first blog entry. This is involving our tactics being referred to as acts of terrorism.
It is linked on the homepage, which is also updated at http://boycottstevencohen.webs.com/
I hope to bring other contributors in and am querying with the organizers to involve the right people.
Good work.
And he say's it's because he disagrees with us on a certain issue, what an idiot, does he really still not realise what he's done/is doing, the fool, try sullying the memory, spouting blatant lies, doing it in an ignorant and disgusting vitriolic manner for size mr '****in' Cohen."They are attempting to contact our clients, they are attempting to contact our correspondents... not attempting, they are! And then I started to think why, and the answer is, because I disagree with them on a particular issue. Now my point to you out there... If these people, using these tactics, came from Afghanistan, or Pakistan, we'd call them terrorists, that's what we'd call them... they are behaving and acting like terrorists." -Steven Cohen, World Soccer Daily, April 23, 2009Last edited by Vermilion; 21-05-09, 01:37 PM.

The club have weighed in on the matter now!
Liverpool Football Club have today issued a statement in response to the recent ill-informed and inflammatory comments made about the Hillsborough disaster by the London-born, US-based Radio presenter Steve Cohen.
The official statement reads: Liverpool Football Club totally condemns the comments regarding the Hillsborough disaster made by the radio and TV broadcaster Steve Cohen.
Mr Cohen has obviously never taken the time to read the Taylor Report which stated clearly that ticketless fans were not a contributory factor or responsible for the events of that day.
To use the 20th anniversary of the disaster to repeat false claims about Liverpool fans (which Mr Cohen first broadcast and then apologised for in 2006) is even more unacceptable.Cult Member. Nazi puncher.

Got this back from Heineken:
Dear Consumer,
Thank you for contacting us to express your concerns about the presence of our advertising on World Soccer Daily Show - co-hosted by Steve Cohen. As an advertiser, our strategy is to place our advertising on networks and within programs, which enjoy a high listenership among our target consumers, and to ensure that all of our ads only run in programs with an audience demographic by which at least 70% of listeners are adults over the legal drinking age of 21. These specific requirements are a part of the Heineken Rules and Guidelines on Commercial Communication and the Beer Institute Advertising and Marketing Guidelines, to which Heineken USA subscribes.
While we understand that the content of this particular show may have been offensive to some listeners, the placement of our ads within the program does not represent an endorsement of the content of this particular episode. We place advertisements on programs because of the demographic makeup of the audience for the specific program, not its content. That said, we understand and appreciate your concerns and will take this issue up with the appropriate internal parties to determine if we will continue to advertise within this program in the future.
Thank you for contacting us to express you opinion about our market place activities.

As the LFCNY (www.lfcny.org) expected, Cohen has received some sympathetic press coverage, notably from The LA Daily News and now The New York Times. Both articles are mirror images of each other with much space devoted to the musings of noted constitutional scholar, Steve Cohen, about how Liverpool fans are infringing his 1st Amendment rights via the boycott of his sponsors.
**** the first amendment!!

What a load of ****. The first amendment gives you the right to say whatever the **** you want, but not the right to have everyone agree with it and support your sponsors. Utter utter garbage.Originally posted by liverpooltj View PostAs the LFCNY (www.lfcny.org) expected, Cohen has received some sympathetic press coverage, notably from The LA Daily News and now The New York Times. There is an ongoing campaign, orchestrated by the New York Supporters Club, which is targetting sponsors and contributors to Cohen's programme.
Details can be found on this thread (but may take some trawling, as it's currently 66 pages long!).
A number of sponsors have already withdrawn their support. Tim Vickery from the Beeb has been involved and Graham Poll, who was one of Cohen's occasional guests, has refused to appear on the programme in future. Massive props to Poll in particular for his response. Also Steve Nicol has announced that he will no longer have anything to do with Cohen.
There's a lot of good work going on and it shows no sign of tailing off, which is to the credit of those involved.

I have met the General Manager of Asia of Heineken, I will fire off an E-mail and try and get the Hong Kong and Singapore supporters clubs involved. That smug ******* will curse the day he ever took on Liverpool FC and tried to sully our good name. He probably thinks hes untouchable, little does he know how fickle the media world is. If sponser of the standing of Heineken drop him, he will be radio activeOriginally posted by zimbo View PostThere is an ongoing campaign, orchestrated by the New York Supporters Club, which is targetting sponsors and contributors to Cohen's programme.

Had to read it twice.
