The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think he may still be registered as a Stoke player.

of course you do, he was that weak kid that used to be excused P.E. because he had a note from his mum every week..

I thought we'd gotten ourselves a bargain initially. Leeds were struggling to pay the electricity bill and were selling off all their stars.......and we ended up with some bloke that looked like kewell!

Another sick note. Thank god he was injured most of the time - awful goalkeeper!

Awful? Really? I think he's a pretty decent keeper when fit

Matteo is definitely still on Stoke's books. There was an article about him on the beeb website a few weeks ago. He's been injured all season. Think his contract is about to expire though.

We've had a few youngsters who have had the odd game over the years but not really kicked on. The likes of Phil Charnock and Stephen Wright.

We also had Don Hutchinson, David Burrows and Stevie Harkness!

And I still to this day think it's a real shame that Nigel Clough didn't work out for us. Could have/ should have been a brilliant signing.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

I think thats about a fair assessment actually. He has been excellent since going to Wigan but for us he looked lacking in confidence and fairly poor. I think he is just someone who needs to be played regularly and who due to his big frame is uncomfortable with the ball at feet, an area where some ability seems to be a prerequisite for a Rafa keeper.

I hope you're not suggesting he was a poor player. Poorly yes, poor no. A very good wingback for us in my opinion.
