Doesnt deserve to be boo'ed or clapped.

Nothing wrong with leaving the club, but he messed us about and meant we only got 8 million for our best asset.

All he used to talk about was England, England and England we pay your wages lad focus on us and not them all the time.

Had the chance to come back but he said no, why on earth would you want to play for Newcastle? At the time they were going no where and the only place there going is down. You only get one career and he chose to waste 4 years there. He left to win medals and he got what he deserved an intertoto cup medal.

What a waste of potential and a career, he looks finished and cant see him getting a big club either.

He was superb for us but by no means will he go down as legend, I wonder where he would be on our goalscoring charts if he stayed but he never.

For all the negative stuff about Owen - and some of it is just justified - we must remember what he did for the club. A true Liverpool goalscoring legend.

Without Owen's goals we would've finished outside the top 4 in 2003/04 and wouldn't have even been in the competition in 2005.

Would Rafa have joined us ahead of Inter if we were in UEFA Cup or worse not even in Europe at all?

Owen has made his mistakes and he knows it but anyone who boos him is bang out of order.

I dont understand the bitterness towards him, we have never read or seen what realy happened behind the scenes. We only see what the press show or what so called insiders tell us on the internet.

Carra, Gerrard or Fowler all fail to slag him off when they had the cance.

Maybe one day he will put the record straight and untill then he gets the benifit of the doubt from me.

Treat Owen with the indifference he deserves. He is finished.

He made TWO horrific career decisions, silly man.

As much as i want to be pissed off about the way he has behaved since summer 04. I cant hate him. I was at selhurst park when we were 2-0 down against wimbledon and he came on as a 17 year old and got a goal. What a player he was at 17!! Remember the cup final... 1-0 down against arsenal.. totally outplayed and outclassed then along came owen and won the cup on his own. The guy is a legend in my eyes. Yes im sorry things turned out so **** between us but thats all water under the bridge. **** it.. he is a hero in my eyes. He made me so happy for so many years. without him we would have been mid table.

I am glad he got a decent reception from the Kop & Paddock when he was warming up

Not sure where he can go tbh.His best bet would be to Everton I think.Moyes could get the best out of him.

He isn't going to go to a big club, but I think City would be a bad move with all the uncertainty about what's going on there, and all the expectation.

He'd be better going to a mid table team with less expectation to prove himself again, then maybe look fo another step up
