at worst he's been inconsistent. he's never been ****e yet he has had some outstanding games for us and added a key, key ingredient to our balance and style of play. fully deserves a second season and more pertinently, he fully deserves our support.

sorry mate but thats utter ****e. hes had some great games for us and although he hasnt always looked fantastic its his first season.

utter bollox slagging a player who dsnt deserve it this late on in the season when we are still in the hunt.

Name 4 games he has played well in? In fact, name a single game where he has undoubtedly been the man of the match? Wingers (despite there inconsistencies) frequently win man of the match awards (Aaron Lennon, Ashley Young, Ronaldo etc etc). I can't think of a single game where he has deserved the MOTM award - (he might possibly have come close to it against Aston Villla at home). He's not good enough - it's as simple as that.

He is a massive improvement on Riise and combines really well with Aurellio or Insua when they play and is a regular in the Spanish squad who won the European Championships.

I think the critisism he's got has been a little harsh. Today I thought he had a good game, and while he's not the best player in the world, he does a decent enough job considering the money we paid for him
