When i said mentally, i meant in relation to the physical aspect - if he finds it tough going and if defenders kick him about, will he respond like Torres and thrive off it? Or will he get sulky and pissed off, like Ronaldo?

Or worse, will he just think 'this isnt for me' ?

That's what i meant.

I'm not doubting him, but it's a concern and if he is the sort who'll get sick of the physical aspects, i'd rather we found out before signing him, rather than spending a fortune and being lumbered with that kind of attitude.

Ok, I have my doubts about that aspect of his game too.

I also wonder whether he scores enough goals. This season he has got 5 in 29, so pretty much 1 in 6. I suppose it compares favourably to Riera though.

I suppose all in all I'm just not quite sure about him, but it's still hard to think of a realistic viable alternative. I think I'd prefer his teamate Mata if Valencia were willing to sell him.

Surely we do that with all players we sign, Babel being an exception , Macia brought Silva to Valencia and with all Rafa's connections there you'd think, or at least hope, that we'd be doing our due diligence on him as such.

I honestly think we've laid down a marker for next season and, despite the likely fact that United will be champions, we will be the team to beat. For the first time in years, I will be predicting us to win it. This campaign has given us genuine belief.
