The problem is that this is replacing the PTS. The PTS was an old scheme with many fewer members that was closed to new applications. If you were in the PTS you were pretty much guaranteed tickets. Now PTS is being merged with the main scheme and instead of competing against 10000 people for tickets you are competing against 100,000.

Most PTS members are locals so they are convinced this is an attempt to give more tickets to OOT'ers.

Fair enough mate I am inclined to sway towards giving people actually from Liverpool preference for tickets and I am an out of towner myself. I would also say its about getting the balance right in terms of ticket allocation, I have heard Liverpool have a extremely pedestrian selection of season ticket holders and thats one of the reasons the atmosphere is so good on European nights because the allocation opens up more ..

I'm wondering whether this is worth joining.

I try and get up to Anfield about once a year, but would probably go more often if tickets were easier to get.

Does anyone know how many tickets are offered to members before the general sale?

Also, are tickets on the exchange thing close to face value, or is it a legitimate black market?

I wouldn't have thought so mate. I think the season ticket waiting list is completely separate from this.

The fans membership scheme was £29 last year as well IIRC. This replaced the old fan club scheme which was about £32.

the worst thing about all of this is that the fan cards started at just £2.50 and now they want us to pay nearly £30 before we can even buy tickets

they only doing it because they know they can
