Which Player would help heal the pain of Alonso?

Xabi Alonso is a great player and Liverpool will feel the loss. Lots of fans are gutted, but which signing could Rafa make to help you forget the pain? Obviously we could change tactics, so it wouldnt have to be a direct replacement.

In dream world, Villa or Aguero.

In reality, Hamsik. Fabregas would be nice, but that wont happen.

You seem to be very keen on Hamsik. Given the conversation below is this based on your own analysis or more general talk of his quality?

Not a holding midfielder or defensive, no. But central...yes. Or as far as i was aware, anyway.

Fabregas would be spot on, but like you say, would never happen!

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

More based on what i've been told and his stats, to be honest. He scores 1 in 3 for club and 1 in 4 for country. One of europe's next big things.

He is not yet srong enough to play CM in the premiership. As I mentioned in another thread, he'd be ideal on the left and good cover for Stevie behind the striker.
                      Forwards.......

You could play him in the advanced central role and pull SG back into CM.

Indeed we could. But if we were pulling Stebie back I'd be more keen to sign a top class striker.

I guess who I went for would depend on the prices of each available option. With his club being Napoli I would guess he would not be cheap. They are making a major push this transfer window to win Serie A.
