I'd like to think we can beat United at their place, obviously it wont be easy, however if Kuyt and Sissoko are fit and available I think we have a chance.

I expect a draw though because both teams have to much to lose.
Surely we have MILES more to lose than United?

Defeat ends our title challenge (if one still exists).

For United, the worst case scenario is a 3 point defecit from Chelsea.

The repercussions of defeat differ greatly.

Of course we have a chance, those games are usually tight and we usually raise our game.

But if you were walking into Ladbrokes with £100,000 to be placed on a Win-Draw-Win bet, you'd not be going for the away win.

          Won 2

Woeful, we'll be lucky to pick up a point in Manchester.

            It makes horrible reading.

But, something i cling onto is the fact that it took Houllier two or three visits before he finally got wind of what was required to win at OT.

Rafa's had two experiences of it now, he'll be wiser for them and he's far too intelligent and shrewd to not have learnt from them.

Well, if I had £100,000 burning a hole in my pocket and had to place, I would put the money on a draw.

However, we've had some abysmal luck this year (what with the amount of woodwork we've hit) maybe, just maybe luck will go our way at Old Trafford.

I hope so, i really do.

And i'm not dismissing our chances out of hand.

But i'd be lying if i said i wouldnt take a draw - if, for no other reason, than to still be clinging onto the coat tails of the title race, come next sunday evening...

Yes we do have a lot to lose but so do they. 8 points would all of a sudden become 5 and they would still have to come to Anfield, go to the Emirates, Stamford Bridge... so they do still have a lot to lose.

I do think we need to pick the right team, and rather than a containing game, I'd like to see us fight them.

It has to be our strongest possible team, and that means no Pennant, Aurelio, or Zenden.

Man U certainly have weaknesses, however I don't like the fact that Rooney seems to have just clicked back into gear.

No result would surprise me tbh, sometimes it takes a big game like this for the players to really get themselves going. We'll see.

I think to fight them would be the right path to take. If we rough them up and kick them all over the place they won't know what's hit them.

We, as you rightly said, can't play people like Pennant or Zenden though.

                          I'd go with

                          Riise

                          Sami

                          Carra

                          Finnan

Gonzales( maybe a bit lightweight for this match)

                          Momo

                          Xabi

                          Stevie

                          Kuyt

Crouch and just kick them all over the place and over run them.

Without meaning to offend, i dont believe you mate.

I honestly dont believe that you REALLY, hand on heart, EXPECT us to win at OT.

I think we could and might. Like you, no result would SURPRISE me.

But if i was putting my last tenner on it, the away win would be my third choice pick.

It's a tough pick, however they don't really have an aerial threat (apart from gangsta at set-pieces) therefore Agger, if fit, should start along side Carragher. Riise and Finnan are automatic first choices. Our best central midfield is Sissoko and Alonso. Gerrard is better than anybody on the right, and up front I'd pick Kuyt definitely, and might be tempted to try Fowler (however this might be rose-tinted.) Left side is a tricky area, I would probably start with Aurelio as he can track back and has a good set-piece in him.

EDIT: And I know I've changed my mind about Aurelio, but I can't think of anybody else on the left that can defend!!!
