he needs the ball played quickly to him with open space in front of him.

you cant play it into his feet with 2 defenders around him because he will lose it. I thought he tried hard yesterday and closed people down but his overall contribution was poor. but he did work hard and that's something positive.

In fairness to him we couldnt get the ball into him quick enough and our passing tempo was really pedestrian. It was too slow and allowed spurs to get their defensive line back in order and thus closed off any opportunities for him and gerrard, torres and the rest.

He wasnt the only one who didnt play well yesterday.

When can you pass him the ball? When there are no defenders anywhere near him he's ace

Voronin would be a fantastic striker if it wasn't for those pesky opposition teams who start the match with a goalkeeper.

This issue with Babel illustrates the true intelligence of some of the posters on this forum. I think people were even having a go at Voronin too. What the **** did Voronin do wrong yesterday? He wasn't even on the pitch for more than 10 mins yesterday.

All our front four were woeful yesterday. Is that coincidence? NO. they had no supply from the midfield and all the defenders (namely Carragher) kept playing the ball long. Mascherano and Lucas were within 10 yards of each other throughout the game. I can only recall Babel being passed the ball to his feet twice yesterday. On one of those occasions, he was surrounded BY 4 TOTTENHAM PLAYERS. What the ****? How is he meant to do anything if he's surrounded by 4 players? And if he's surrounded by 4 players, then why was no one backing him up and moving into space? Kuyt was frequently passed the ball yet lost it virtually every time. Torres kept going to ground every time he ran with the ball, but yet Torres can do no wrong in peoples eyes. And Gerrard put away a penalty and had 2 shots - what else did he do? I think some of people the comments made towards Babel are disgraceful. Forget his past performances and look at yesterdays game. All the front four were bad.

You are officially the best poster on this forum. I can't disagree with any of that - you are absolutely spot on with all your points.

Yes babel was poor yesterday but jesus christ so were the rest of the team. carra had his worst performnce in years. he was edgy and really slack. insua was pretty abysmal. lucas and mash showed that together they are not an attractive looking partnership. it was only one game and i'm positive babel will show his talents this year.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

I had a cheeky bet for Babel player of the season last year.

...However, anyone who thinks he will come good is now being delusional. The lad has purchased a one way ticket to Cack XI and he aint coming back.

Now maybe I've missed something but I cannot see one single skill/talent/attribute to warrant being a professional footballer. Granted he can run fast without the ball but what is the use of that?

I normally support every single player we have but his lazy, bone-idle and selfish playing style is really starting to get on my wick!!!

Not one to bash players, i will simply say, he is just not good enough, and should be show the door asap....

we need to pass the ball quicker and move it from one side to the other to try and give him a one on one against his man. Every time he got the ball yesterday he was surounded by at least 2 players. There might not always be an end product but at least the defender knows he has the ability to go past him. That will unsettle any defence.

The passing into our creative players like gerrard, babel and kuyt wasnt good enough yesterday and babel's not to blame for that.

Nevermind Babel's shortcomings - at least you missed watching Kuyt in action - possibly THE poorest display i've ever seen from a professional footballer.
