As with Spurs, there are always gonna be games you lose, but it is the lack of invention & conviction that really worry me.
    3rd place. Worst champions ever.

All true. But now we can hardly afford anymore slip ups for the next 35 games. Last season Man Utd on 90 points drew 6 games and lost 4, winning 28.

Take into account we still have to play six games against the other big three, two against our local rivals. Never mind other teams like Blackburn and Burnley away and you get the sense that 90 poinst is a tall order for LFC.

Despite everything, it is early days so lets take a chill pill, see what happens over the next half a dozen games and then we will get a better picture of where we are at and where we can go.

Its amazing how many people tried to dismiss the loss of Alsono and shouted about Lucas having a chance. He did well against Stoke....but it was just Stoke after all.

This performance and that against Spurs just reminds me of the majority of games where Alonso didn't play last season. Piss poor. Sure, we did well against the Mancs, but games like that sometimes raise a players game for 90 minutes, on the whole, Lucas just isn't good enough. Alonso was the best at what he did and he directed all our play.

Before anyone harps on about our 3 injured internationals, Riera, Aquilani (unproven), and Aurelio, they're hardly great players are they? We over performed last season, whilst the Mancs and Chavs under performed.

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season.

It wasn't a bad performance. I'd give it 7/10. Thought we were unlucky. It was a bit of a freak result but it happens to be on the back of another bad result where we were comprehensively beaten (due to lack of effort...not what tonights result was about) which makes it seem worse. I still think we'll do well this season.

We desperately need Aquilani fit asap. I ****ing hate our midfield at the moment. Our top players were **** today and our bench was ****ing woeful. Suppose there's nothing you can do when you haven't got the money to spend.

One thing that really pisses me off is our inability to defend set pieces, this has been going on for far too long, what is the ****ing problem?

Aye, it is certainly safe to say that at least in the short term we are missing Alonso's presence. Hopefully it's just teething problems.

Hustler, I could say the same about Liverpool. Man Utd have lost their best player and will suffer because of it. But that has **** all to do with Liverpool. All the teams competing have huge question marks over them, but what is likely is that a team will need to win around the 90 point mark to win the title. And Liverpool look a long way off that.

I love it how after we won everyone was saying that Lucas was good and that he just needs time and now we lose and he's the worst footballer on the face of the planet. I'm not exactly a Lucas fan, I don't think he's horrendous he's just a solid footballer in my eyes but seriously the way people go on with him is a bit ridiculous at times. Reminds me a bit of Sissoko who played very well here for most of his time then had a bad half a season and everyone crucified him.

Also, I like the fact that after 3 games people are making such strong predictions. If later in the season we're really going well and making a push at finishing top then all of this will be forgotten. 2 losses is a bitch, but overall it's too early to pass any strong judgement although it must be said we do look quite wank in present.

It is IMO. But by the time we sort them out, at this rate we'll only have the top 4 and cups to aim for. Luckily for us we have 4 easy games coming up in the league, before we play Chelsea. Four wins out of four and we'll all be doing better.

In fact, if United beat the Gunners and then we go and beat Chelsea we will only be at the very most three points behind any of the other big three. Which inspite of people in cloud cuckoo land are the only teams capable of winning the league.

Problem is we are already heading into such a big game in a scenario where it is in all likely hood going to be a must win game. Something we could have done without.

Lucas is so over-rated by some of our fans, its unbelievable.

The problem with that is that we don't know how he'll adapt. He could turn out to be useless in the EPl. In Italy he's classed as soft.
