Aurelio was superb, always composed and accomplished, always calm, hardly gave the ball away and put in a few excellent deliveries into the box.

N'Gog also lead the line brilliantly, battled hard, made it stick and took his goal beautifully.

Babel was a constant threat and looked confident, good performance.

Spearing was also very tidy and held his own well, some very nice balls through and worked hard too.

Good game from Degen too, a good threat going forward.

    Now the negatives.

Mascherano was an idiot, poor display and a stupid thing to do which could yet get him suspended. Didnt look like he was focused and to me, looks Barcelona bound. Doesnt look interested.

Dossena, even against League 1 opposition, was woeful yet again. Exposed several times, easily beaten one on one and looked out of his depth. Against a third tier side.

Riera - quality was there, but looked really lazy and as if his main priority was to not get injured. Few balls he couldnt be arsed to chase, never put himself about for any 50/50 challenges and looked very much in 'do just enough but no more' mood. Bit disappointed, because the ability is there.

Overall, a bit fortunate, but job done.
Glad someone else has noticed this. I hope we sell him.

Leeds do look like a good team and i am sure they will go up this season if they keep on performing like that.

            Doss in 2nd still awful.
Idiot wasn't so bad, but still hate his sarcastic smiling. Ye, I'm talking about Phillip.
Babel, OK but should do better vs such side.
            Ngog brilliant, good goal..
Mascherano...what's wrong with him? he should control his anger...
Johnson did a good job, too. Yes, Glen! ^^
            Spearing improved in second half.
            Aurelio did OK.
And yes, **** them for booing Stevie.
Carragher made one big mistake, but was good.
            The Spartan was OK.
I wasn't worry when Cavalieri was there. Good job, and very good save, after Carra's mistake!
And yes, Škrtel was the best :P

I dont get the big kerfuffle about how 'well' they played. The media are jizzing themselves off but all it was, was a motivated performance, where they gave everything (as you'd expect in the circumstances) against a 'barely could be arsed' and 'refuse to get out of 2nd gear' Liverpool reserves side.

Typical Sky and 'get behind the underdog' bollocks.

Aye job done. Pants performance on the whole but job done.

I've stuck up for Dossena in the past and still think he has something to offer on the wing, but **** me he got taken to the cleaners tonight and he should never play left-back for us again! His opponents make going past him look so easy, continually. He's had plenty of time to adapt and improve defensively, but time and again he's dismantled.

When the ball is in the air, Kyrgiakos is a monster and near-impregnable. I like that about him and we badly needed a dominant aerial presence. But put him up against someone nippy and skilful on the deck, and he's in deep ****!

Degen was good going forward and at last showed what Rafa presumably saw of him.

Ngog did okay generally and it was a very well taken goal.

Christ, how is Paul Merson allowed on TV? Even forgetting he's utterly clueless, the guy is a jibbering wreck.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

                      Thought Spearing did alright
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just splurring his words, calling Degen De Gan, apparently tonight we played "Stoke", he's just a complete wreck!

I thought he was poor sadly, he looked better when back alongside Mascher, aside from that I was not overly impressed.
