I was more pissed off with the attitude of some of our players, ie Riera, Gerrard and Torres rather surprisignly. Them three seemed to give up.
It's time for our big players to come good. Particularly Stevie G.
I disagree with Torres remark, simply because he had no service.

Rafa played to contain chelsea, not to win. If we had taken the game to Chav's, they would have been dead buried imo. There was ample space when we had the ball to attack, we just had no one to dictate the play.

I think the title winners will still end up with about 90 points.

If we're going to lose 6 games, we'll have to win 30 IMO. With Old Trafford, Emirates and COM still to come, it's not likely at all, for me.

Yeah SG has had years to prove his worth to the club...

I cannot get over how many are writing off the season - look at the table FFS, there's a ****ing long way to go!

          This season i'm talking about.
Can you honestly say Gerrard has been good this season?
He went missing at Spurs, Villa at home and most definetely today.
People are far too reluctant to give Gerrard any negative remarks, yet Carragher gets dog abuse. It really does baffle me.

They lost 4 all season. That's slightly different from 4 losses by the halfway point, dont you think?

If we've lost 4 by halfway, we'd need to go basically unbeaten from January til the end.

I know people are desperate to cling onto genuine hope but you have to be realistic. We've lost 3 out of 8. It's been a woeful start and we still have plenty of really tough games to come. So do the others, but the difference is we've lost every difficult game we've had thus far.

One of those lesser teams has already beaten us at Anfield unfortunately.

I agree about the draws, but that doesnt mean we can just willfully keep losing games. Carry on like this, and we'll end up needing to go on a 15 game winning run, or something of that ilk. I dont think it's realistic to give yourself virtually no margin for error with 2 thirds or half the season to play - which is where we'll be if we lose again in the next 9 or 10 games IMO.

I'm looking and i'm seeing that with JUST 8 games played, Chelsea have already built up a 6 point lead.

You can claw back big leads on FM but in real life, title winners tend to lose about 1 in 10. If the gap extends to 8 or 9 points, we're asking for miracles.

Its not like we've not gone unbeated after Jan, IIRC we've done it nearly over the last 2 seasons.

I agree with you on the latter point. That is the worrying thing. And looking at all 3, there's no key sticking point for me. We've have no one to dictate our play when we have the ball, plus benayoun has been left on the bench for 2 of those and Mascherano and Lucas have started together in all 3. All thou they have started 3 games together which we've won, but they were against poor oppostion, west ham, burnley and stoke.

It's not like we've not done it before, but by the same token, it's also not something you'd put your mortgage on. The point is that we're giving ourselves a massive problem whereby every game in the 2nd half of the season may end up being a tightrope. With the increased quality of sides like Spurs & City, it makes going on such a run even harder, because we'll be facing harder games against very capable and strong teams, more frequently.

Put simply, yes we've done it before, but you wouldnt choose to be in the position where we'd need to do it again.

The Alonso argument peddled by the media might seem lazy, but the stats and manner of our defeats tells its own story.

One of the biggest problems we've had, is exactly what Alonso solved.

Chelsea are away to Villa next. They won't win. Beat Sunderland and suddenly we're back in the picture, then we've got a chance to close down on the mancs as well.

It's not the end of the world.

although it was devastating to lose to chelski yesterday lets look at the positive side. we're only 6 points off top. other teams ( chelsea manure included ) are not as strong as used to be as has been shown in defeat against wigan and a lucky draw with sunderland. there are still 32 games to go and a lot of points to be won. we have to now hope rafa steps up to the plate and makes the big bollock decisions - which IMO are dropping carra and lucas. carra has been at fault for most of our goals conceeded so far and lucas / mash partnership doesn't work at all. out of the 2 he must get dropped as mash proved he was invaluable yesterday to our team. again IMO we should really go for a 3 -5- 2 formation and just bombard teams.
