Cream got it from Rafa. He's the ultimate insider. In fact, he probably IS Rafa.

N'Gog batteled well against Leeds and has been rewarded with starts, so they know what has to be done.

Degen has it all to do just to get ahead of Kelly, never mind Johnson. Insua has not been amazing at LB this season so Dossena could give the manager food for thought.

Babel has a world cup dream and needs to play for the first team to realise that.

This cup is an ideal chance of a crack at redemption.
To be honest I would be suprised if more than one person leaves in January, as it would weaken the squad. However going out of this competition limits certain players chances for the rest of the season, only an easy FA Cup draw would see a number of them gat anymore games this season, and there could be a few getting the push in the summer.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

What's happened to Stephen Darby then ?

Looked to me like a certain candidate to progress to the first team, a no nonsense type of player, reads the game very well, strong and assured just needs experience in my opinion.

Liked to have seen a few shouts for him at RB. Out of all the promising reserves he looks the best bet to get on.

But then again what do I know I like Lucas.

Eased out of the picture by Kelly, and with Degen ahead of him it doesn't look so good. Think he's Championship standard myself, although obviously it's difficult to say at this stage with any conviction.

Injury in the summer cost Darby big time. He could have been back up to Johnson right now had he stayed fit. Kelly would never have got the chance at RB (and played at CB ahead of Ayala) during pre season and he'd have had a good chance to show he was better than Degen during those games.

Unless Kelly is ear marked for the CB role in future it could be curtains for Darby.

Darby's not good enough and won't make it here. He needs a few years at a lower league.

                        What a moron if true.

That side will cause us serious grief at the back.

Defo, will be amazed if we keep it at 2 to be honest. Centre half isnt bad but I think the full backs will get terrorised, movement baffles the pair of them. Dont see our two cm's getting much of a grip on the midfield either. And Babel and Voronin?

On the plus side ive now got such low expectations about tomorrow I can only end up reasonably content at the final whistle unless we get hit for double figures.

The Mirror seem to think this will be the team:

                                Cavalieri
                                Johnson
                                Carragher
                                Agger
                                Insua
                                Babel
                                Spearing
                                Lucas
                                Aurelio
                                Voronin
                                Ngog

Can't see it myself, especially not that defence anyway.
