A disaster?? do you know how many transfer buys are then sold on at a profit???Originally posted by Bender View Postany loss on a transfer is a disaster especially if we did sign him for £8million and not forgetting the clubs current money status..... also don't forget if the player didn't ask for a transfer then the club must pay remaining bounus and his contractThe King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Every player signing is a risk Bender, that's why clubs are insured against injuries etc ... Dossena has not been able to thrive in English football, doesn't mean he is a bad player though. The list of clubs vying to his signature testifies to this.

Football was never meant to be about millions. At its most basic nature it was a game played between two teams of 11 players. Then it evolved into what it is today, with much more baggage than just 22 players fighting for a ball and trying to stick it in a net.Originally posted by Bender View Postnever said he was a bad player as for the list of clubs his agent did brilliant don't think there was that many anyway just his agent securing a move ......every loss is a loss when you use denominations of £millions
On that note, I'm off to support AFC Liverpool.

I presume the £7-£8m would include performance and appearance add ons so I doubt our loss would be that extreme. Even the Keane deal we appear to have lost around £1m or so plus agents fees.
Too be honest I would rather have liked to have kept him as going forward he's pretty good and who could forget the fourth at Old Trafford !I make no apologies, this is me

Liverpool transfer deal scuppered by the snow
Andrea Dossena's exit from Liverpool has been put on hold...by the snow!
The left-back was due to fly to Napoli today to complete a move back to his native Italy after a disastrous spell at Anfield.
But the former Udinese defender found himself stranded at Liverpool airport after blizzard conditions forced the closure of the facility.
With Manchester airport also closed there was no way out of the country for Dossena, but last night his agent confirmed the £4million transfer will go ahead as soon as the weather improves.
"At the moment there are logistical problems, that is to say he can't leave Liverpool because of the snow," Roberto La Florio, the player's agent said.
"When he can get over to Napoli, he will arrive on a permanent basis with a contract for four-and-a-half years. I believe he will arrive in the city tomorrow."I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?
