    It that just us??

There is, however, Aussie question intonation, where we make every sentence sound like a question, hey.
Queensland hick???? Noooooo way mate. I am from Sydney and my parents are Italian born, so I would gladly say im the furthest from being a Queensland hick possible while still living in australia.

Yes, the high rising terminal is a killer. As well as the lengthenening of vowel sounds in specific words, I can't handle it. It's all like:

"So thees uftannooooo-wun I was theenkeen of go'un shopeeeing"

The "I" sound as a double e also gets me.

Too bad he couldn't resist those doughnuts.
Lets not start going on about aussie's sounding weird, some of the weird crap I here you guys come out with and even type is weird, 'innit.

I lived & worked in Sydney 6 months & never noticed anyone saying it.

Everyone did say "are you serious?!?" lots though.
      3rd place. Worst champions ever.

To be fair, if I was a foreigner, I'm sure the northern British accent would have confused the hell out of me.
          Are we winning?

The only thing I have to say the scousers participating in this accent conversation is pot, kettle and black.

Nothing worse than someone chatting away in some ******* tongue while everyone else stands about absolutely clueless as to what they've just said. As for Aussies, I find the accent easy to understand. I just think it's unfortunate that they've become the mouthpiece for the rising price of pints in England, like
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Most native English speakers have no probs with the Aussie accent, but for people whose second language is English, I've found I really have to watch how I speak to them to be understood. The broader vowels and slurred consonants really throw them.

Almost as bad as the tween habit of adding unnecessary "likes" into every sentence.

Seen a couple of Napoli games lately, and he is unrecognisable (his physical appearance anyway). With hair and some weight loss, I dare not say it but Dossena is actually a pretty decent looking chap. Assisted a good goal on the weekend. Not trying to spark a debate but I'd have him over Konchesky any day of the week.

                      Bares practically zero resemblance.
