Didn't Insua assist more goals than any other full back in the premier league last season? Didn't Insua assist more goals on average/per mins played than any other Liverpool player last season?

He was ****ing cack

His goals masked his deficiencies defensively

He was constantly out of position

To me his performances defensively didnt change one bit, the only thing was he started off scoring a lot of spectacular goals and then as these diminshed over the seasons people started to look at what he really was

A very poor fullback in terms of defensive duties and someone whose passing consisted of ****ting the ball 50 yards down the pitch

Roy would probably see him as the ideal fullback

He only played a handful of games for us, didn't he? I remember him being overlooked as a left back after a series of disastrous games there, one of them we got trounced against a team I no longer remember the name, then he was played as a left winger - or was it as a left full back in a 3-5-2 formation?

Can't help feeling that too often we have looked to convert wingbacks to the fullback role. While a few of the very best fullbacks around are attacking and come from a background of wing play I can't help feeling that there are better odds in defenders who can do a few things higher up the pitch (models being either Gary Neville or Arbeloa although admittedly both are right backs).

It seems that at least our squad fullbacks should be coming from the reserve team/youth setup.

Nicol (during the first two seasons Barnes played) and even then he was a rightback who we pushed over to that side
