He deserved it for his comments last week if nothing else.
The "Judas" chants were pretty fair I thought.I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

tink henchoz so more to do with winning the fa cup seeing he cleared half a million shots off the line that dayOriginally posted by hamshanks View PostWas it right? After all he did for us over the years, winning the FA Cup singlehandedly etc shouldn't we be bigger than that? Or does he deserve everything he gets for signing for the scum?
Listen to this podcast, they properly disagree about it. What do you think?

I completely agree with this. There are some things that Liverpool supporters shouldn't have to put up with and this is one of them. While I disagree with players returning and getting booed for Owen I'll make an exception because he plays for THEM!! With his return with Newcastle, it was different, but there is animosity between the two sets of fans and it is bitter.Originally posted by Ballykissdevil View PostThe minute he signed his name on that dotted line for Man United he lost any entitlement to a fair reception at Anfield. It's just the way it is and I'm sure he would have expected no different.
Having said that with Owen it's been a bit of ongoing disrespect to the club and fans. Firstly in 2004 he said that he kept promising he was going to re-sign with the club and 48 hours later he was off to Spain.
He also said that he only wanted to sign for Liverpool on his return. Well we did bid for him but he went to the highest bidder. If he did want to return he could have sat it out and RM but he didn't.
Personally I'm glad that we didn't get him over Newcastle as I am not sure if we would have had Torres with Owen back in the team and Owen is/was/will/ never come close to Torres!!"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.
Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."

Exactly. Nando said the other week he'd never play for the Scum out of respect for Liverpool. As we sang on Sunday 'Once a Manc, Never a red'.Originally posted by Ballykissdevil View PostThe minute he signed his name on that dotted line for Man United he lost any entitlement to a fair reception at Anfield. I like the man, who is always in the papers for the right reasons, loved the player for what he has done for Liverpool and England, and can see why he joinded Man Utd.
But of course he deserved to be booed!
It may have been the best career decision for him, but he crossed the line joining our biggest rivals.Forwards.......

He is a total Judas.Originally posted by MrMichael View PostHe deserved it for his comments last week if nothing else.

The guy never felt anything for Liverpool and for everything we gave him our club was just a platform for England and a move abroad. His career has punished him more than our chants will hurt him and I appreciate his goals but I will never remember him and he is dead to me. I hope Neville becomes his best friend.

Is that the guys name, i commented about the MO 'rubbing his hands' celebration in a thread, maybe this one, that was so famous at the time, and that the story was that he was mimmicking his dealer friend, this being a thing his 'friend' did when thinking about all the cash he was making from selling er...'substances'.Originally posted by wavydavy View PostEver heard of Michael Flynn?
Seem to remember a bit of a furore at the time about this guy and his mates having access to certain areas of Anfield thanks to his friendship with MO.
Could be wrong of course, but seems to ring a bell.

owen is a knob. plain and simple. the celebration he done years ago against newcastle (?) where he rubbed his hands together like a money obsessed cunt shortly after holding our club to ransom over an exceptionally high wage killed any feeling i had towards him. when he left i was happy. i say continue to boo him. he went to madrid for a big pay day......decided to go to newcastle over us for a bigger pay day.......and now to play for our arch rivals for a similar payday.......O.W.E.N = C.U.N.T!!!People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.
