This is a trainwreck of a thread, some people really need to get over it!
Owen was great whilst he was at Liverpool but he was an employee not a fan, everyone seems to have a very blurred line when it comes to this. Who wouldn't want to earn more money for their family or move to a different job with the belief you could better yourself? Of course we all would, unluckily for him it hasn't worked out in the way he would've hoped but really some of you lot need to grow up.

Its very boring to see all these Owen threads, we'd all have welcomed him back and he would've chosen us over Man U had Rafa decided to offer him a contract, I just feel we need to forget about Owen and some people really need to grow up, talking about hoping he gets injured and things its pathetic.Originally posted by Chrono View PostWhat got in your knickers? You're right, I certainly don't wish him harm but I would not have been happy about him returning to us.Originally posted by Warren View PostIts very boring to see all these Owen threads, we'd all have welcomed him back and he would've chosen us over Man U had Rafa decided to offer him a contract, I just feel we need to forget about Owen and some people really need to grow up, talking about hoping he gets injured and things its pathetic.

I don't blame Owen for leaving us in 2004 as we were a shower of **** at that time, he had the chance to sign for Madrid and we got Nunez who's header was saved against Olympiacos before Mellor scored the rebound! also didn't we use the money or some of it to sign Alonso so arguably Owen helped us win no.5 more by leaving than if he stayed!.
My problem with Owen is fast forward 12 months and the Madrid dream has turned into a nightmare, we are prepared to give Madrid their 12m back but he runs off to join Newcastle for 18m because he didn't have the bollocks to say to Madrid it's Liverpool or I stay.
Sven would have picked him for England regardless of how many Madrid games he started but he ran off to join Sherear to save his England career (highly ironic now).
Still we have Torres now so who were we discussing again? Michael who??The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Ahh, of course, the 'family friend', that er..over charged on some building work and was then taken to court by Owen.Originally posted by wavydavy View PostI'm talking about Michael Flynn. A builder who was driven to suicide.
EDIT. Tom Foley is the gangster. Both mentioned below.
To make matters worse, Michael learned that one of his personal assistants, Tom Foley, was a high-profile Liverpool gangster. Foley was the inspiration behind his patented hand-rubbing goal celebration. Michael halted the habit immediately after discoveing Foley’s secret.
Amazingly, that wasn't end to Michael's bizarre off-field nightmare. Tom Flynn, the man in charge of designing Michael’s parents’ home, committed suicide. Once Michael's best friends, he left a note blaming his death on Michael’s family. Apparently, Flynn had been over-charging the Owens for appliances, and they responded with a lawsuit. Michael’s father also believed Flynn was having an affair with Michael’s mother. All the unpleasantness contributed to the suicide, according to Flynn’s note.Last edited by Vermilion; 28-10-09, 03:34 PM.

RobinhoOriginally posted by telboy View PostNewcastle bidding more doesn't come into it.
At the end of the day, it is the player that signs the contract for the team he wants to play for (whether glory or money). No player has ever signed for a team he doesn't want to play for.
he thought he was going to the scum
Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

maybe just maybe if he hadnt left then we would not have torres. Him leaving allowed us to bring in Alonso and Garcia, both extemely influential in winning the Champions League. From then on the squad has been rebuilt, partly on the back of that success. Lets be frank Torres v Owen? Its not even an unfair competition! Torres is quicker, two footed, better in the air, stronger, and genuinely appears to love the club!! Maybe we should cheer Owen and let him know how grateful we are that he ****ed off
