It was to see that Ecclestone and Ayala got little bit playing time and Insua was quite good. Kuyt was a victim of his never die attitude when he managed to get that ball before going over the line.

Carra and Geek were given torrid time from Zamora of all which is quite concerning, Kuyt is looking knackered and Degen is great when playing against 16-19 year olds. Also my knees are hurting like hell.

Looking for positives, we cannot go much lower, Torres takes his changes well and pain killers might help my knees.

Only thing I can say in his defense is that a fully fit Liverpool squad would struggle to get a win there, Craven Cottage is not a walk in the park.

But even with all those players missing, Liverpool should still be able to get a result. I saw our line up, and whilst it was poor, it did look good enough. I think it is fairl obvious now that after this seasons results myself and others have misguided views about how good some of the Liverpool players are.

But in my book, there had better be a damn good reason for taking Torres of with half an hour to play. And I don't want to hear Rafa say he brought him off so he would be fit for Lyon. The league should be our number one priority. Same goes with regards to Yossi.

As Joe said, we seen it before when we lost 3-2 to Reading. Really bad managing by Rafa. He needs to learn.
Thing is though, we dominated the first half!! They had one chance and scored, but we were all over them. What happened in the second half was just beyond belief. I am so shellshocked I am not even as pissed off as I normally get. I just cannot believe some of those decisions.

Absolute ****ing bull****. That is the biggest load of ****e I've ever read on this forum.

There was nothing wrong with Torres and Benny wasn't playing well was he?....oh thats right, take off our most creative player because he's a little under par and bring on the vastly experienced Ecclestone!!!!

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

Rafa has to make decisions bad or wrong. No manager is immune to a poor one, Fergie has done it countless times. Let's not get distracted by making knee jerk decisions such as thinking about replacing Rafa.

Everyone at this club must take a hard look at themselves and get something out of this season. It's never too late. I can only admire those away supporters who were singing YNWA still at the end of the match. That's the spirit, no matter how hard it is at the moment.

Agger probably had a touch of the old sniffles, enough to keep any grown man out of a football match.

I thought we were the better team up until the final third.

Kuyt was rubbish and it all went tits up when he stupidly tried to keep the ball in and led to their 2nd goal. Schoolboy stuff. From then we were ****ed.

Degen should never have been sent off.

Carra got wrong side and yes he pulled him back but he did win the tackle. I love the fact this sending off is all the evidence some need to nail the coffin lid down on his career. He was immense only 6 days ago!

How apt that Rafa's favourite f**k buddy contributed to his possible downfall.

I can't see anyway back from this for Rafa. Its all conspired against him. Injuries, players wanting to jump ship (alonso & masher), freak goals you name it and its happened.

I hope he stays but a bit of me would love to turn on the tv on monday and kenny had been put in charge. Nostaglic reasons only.
Possibly the most reasoned post in this thread it saddens me to say!

What pisses me off is I've defended Rafa against attacks from ill-informed idiots, yet he just seems intent on giving these people more ammunition. Ridiculous decisions and perseverence with players who have no business being anywhere near the shirt.

I said after the Arsenal game I never want to see Voronin or Babel in our team again (to be fair I've been saying it for 6 months). I've seen nothing to change my mind.

Poor luck with injuries and illness and Not a good Idea subbing Torres clearly.

It looks very likely subs were made with Lyon in mind which if true is the second time hes done it and it wasn't acceptable the first time either.Stupid by Kuyt in the lead up to second goal and poor from Insua with the first but hes young,he'll learn.

Neither red card was right IMO,Yellow at best for Degen and Offside for second one which should have had precedence over anything Carra done.

Poor, poor day but we move on.

Anyone thinking he'll be sacked is deluding themselves, the cost to do so is prohibative and theres no one available right now who's good enough to do better.

I honestly think we might get relegated.

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez on his side's defeat by Fulham: "It is really disappointing. The game was really one-sided until we conceded the first goal and the same happened in the second-half when we had dominated. We had to take Fernando Torres off, he has been injured and he had been training in pain - we knew it would have to happen but it was just a question of when."
