I'd throw the pie at you you cheeky little....Originally posted by andrewces38 View PostWhat a pile of bollocks my friend!!!!!!!!!!.............If you wanted a fish supper and was given a pork pie would you give it 100% to enjoy eating the little fella? or would you eat the ****er just because you was hungry and not make a big stink about it to the wife/partner?................
I know we get frustrated with the current situation but to fair to Rafa he hasn't had the full backing he has wanted during the last window so the reason for this thread is justified but we must sack pellagrino who the person for our defensive blunders , a free header in the center of the penalty box from a corner is piss poor IMO even though it was a cracking header but under no pressure all the same.
Ps did you notice how i quckly turned this into a post match thread
The point is that our players are underperforming. The manager has responsibility. He chose the coaching staff, is in charge of tactics and player motivation. Just look at the defence, leaking about 2 goals per game. Our midfield passing the ball sideways with alarming regularity. Our attackers (with the exception of Benny and Torres) huffing and puffing, but going nowhere.
Yes, I do say that the owners have caused the lack of quality and depth, but where is the effort? Where is the die for the red shirt mentality? Nowhere. The players look like throwing in the towel all too easily.I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

Of course profit has something to do with it.Originally posted by Exiled_red View Post
I'm not sure what your point is.
Yes we sold Alonso and Arbeloa for a profit, but that has nothing to do with this summers budget.
Actually if you consider the net transfers of Alonso and Arbeloa our net spend on them was -£21m (because we made a profit)
If we made profit on merchandise or TV deals, are you saying that wouldn't be counted either. Profits on players is still profit, so we spent £14m on 2 players and spent £40m replacing them, therefore Rafa's net spend is £26m on those 4 players, its not zero.Last edited by Nath; 21-11-09, 08:53 PM.

I'm just fed up with people making out that Rafa has had nothing to spend. As per my post above, he's had £26m to spend this season, his net spend on the 4 players was £26m, not zero as people seem to believe.Originally posted by Red_Polo View PostHuh?
Rafa sold them at a profit and you're translating it into a net SPEND?

I'm saying you don't count the profit made between signing a player and selling them. In terms of this summer we sold a player for £30m to raise money to sign another couple of players, in net terms in goings and out goings are the same. You don't say that because we bought Alonso for £10m and sold him for £30m this summer our net spend this summer was £20m.Originally posted by Nath View PostOf course profit has something to do with it.

The point is we've had no investment from the owners for 2 years, yes we've made signings but we've not been in a position to strengthen because we have to sell to buy. If you buy a player for £2m and sell him for £2m and use that money to buy a replacement for £2m. You still only have a £2m player your gross spend is £4m and your net spend is £2m there is no new investment and you wouldn't expect your squad to be much better in terms of valueThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Hold on, assuming at the end of the previous summer we had completely exhausted our transfer budget, we have in 2009 sold Keane, Alonso and Arbeloa plus some chaff to bring in a tidy sum that outdoes our spending on Aquilani, Johnson, Kyrgiakos and Mavinga. Rafa has spent less than he's paid out in transfer fees this year. Considering we were accustomed to having around £15m per year to spend before G&H came in and we expected slow progress for it, I don't think people are in the wrong for pointing to recent underinvestment in the squad being one of the reasons for our current situation.Originally posted by Nath View PostI'm just fed up with people making out that Rafa has had nothing to spend. That said, I think people are being silly to think it's the only reason as well; after all we do still have a very capable squad. Even before injuries made life seriously tough for us we were struggling to adapt to our slightly different playing style and Rafa does have to take responsibility for that. But ****, he's not perfect, after an impressive domestic campaign I think he's entitled to have a bad patch and for us to be understanding about the factors beyond his control that have turned that into something much worse.Like blood on iron

You pocketed the money from Alonso to pay the interest on the debt you have saddled the club with.
Tha money should have been spent on a player or two
I hope you pair of cunts are happy with yourselves, as you whining yanks say
THE BUCK STOPS WITH YOU!!!
FFS get out our club so we can restore some pride

If an IQ in access of 150 is a low IQ, then I bow to your superiority. However, I think not.
The facts are Moores, Hicks and Gillet have reduced our club to shambolic state. A three ring circus run by clowns would be in a better shape than we are
