I'm more in favour of Rafa staying than I was about a month ago

He's not flawless and there are a couple of worrying echoes of Houllier's final dark days HOWEVER we don't have the resources to compete with United, Chelsea, and Man City - and anyone that doesn't believe this is completely wrong. He hasn't had the level of spending afforded to him than some of his biggest competitors. He has also previously suffered from a lack of speed to make a deal in previous years.

This season we have suffered horrendously with injuries, and yes Rafa has gambled. With the resources available to him we could in my opinion, make a) an excellent first 11 with lack of depth in the squad, or b) a good first 11 and stronger squad depth.

Obviously our injury situation has ripped up an plans Rafa had - and we're left with players playing multiple games that simply aren't good enough.

Final point is that defensively some players are making simple, basic mistakes match after match. Insua, Carragher, Kyrgiakos, Skrtel, to name four have all dropped clangers this season.

Rafa has my support (which I'm sure he values)

      Scully,you should have voted no.
Why is it a dumb poll? I'm guessing you would have voted no if the names were not
      displayed.
Rather than have other options I chose 2.A simple yes or no.Quite a few people on here
have given me the impression that they no longer are behind our manager, which is why I
did this yes or no poll.
I'm behind our manager all the way,I don't think anyone else is as good as him out there
and he will prove to be a winner.we are going through a bad patch, things will get better once all our players are fit.The good times are coming and I will never stop supporting rafa,I'm with him all the way
      YNWA rafa.

Are they......so the 2 cowboys are leaving because if they are then yeah good times are coming if not then doesn't matter if Rafa is here for 100 years he won't be able to excell as a manager with the current owners

I am sick of his **** signings, sick of his favouring crap players, sick of his over-cautious tactics and sick of his demented substitution policies, but I am 100% in favour of his staying and sorting all this **** out and therefore have to vote for the positive option. I just hope a majority vote for 100% doesn't make us come across as idolatrous idiots who'll go on accepting ****.
          My sentiments exactly.

I wasn't aware names were to be displayed when I voted, and I voted Yes because I am more in favour of Rafa staying and sorting the mess and himself out than I am of his going. I don't think a simple yes or no is possible here because it's a complex matter - our problems are a mixture of rotten luck (injuries), crap owners and bad management, and if Rafa were to go then the pay-off, the unlikeliness of getting a top-class replacement, the disruption and the inevitable loss of certain Spanish players would be catastrophic. If, once we have all our top players back from injury, Rafa still fails to get things right on the pitch, then my vote would definitely be No.

Rafa not sigining a striker in the summer has cost us big time. He spent £20m on Aqualani who is still not fit enough to play and it is almost december. He was due to come back to action in october as rafa said he would be out for 5 weeks at the start of the season. IMO he should have signed a striker in the summer with the £20m and waited until next summer to sign Aqualani.

This looks like a gamble that will cost rafa his job as by the time aqualani is up to speed the season will be half over and even then he will need time to adjust to our league. I like everyone else had faith in rafa after the season we had last year but you could see in our preseason games we needed a striker and i was shocked when we did not sign one when it was as obvious as bacon faces purple nose that we needed another striker.

Going into this season with only torres as our only established striker and replacing alonso with a player who was injured with a long term injury was a gamble that has not paid off.

We now have to put up with Ngog upfront while torres is out which for a club like liverpool is not on. Take torres out of our squad and out attcking options up front are no stronger than a midtable team. Rafa needs a strong backroom staff that can give him a kick up the arse when things are bad and ask questions of him but i fear he has surrounded himself with yes men.

I will support Rafa for as long as he is our manager but questions have to be asked!

Perhaps with the resources we have available the choice is:

                    Torres

                    OR

                    2 good strikers

I keep hearing about this striker and 20mill having been spent on Aquilani, we've paid very little of that 20mill, and it's very likley we'd have had trouble signing a top striker under similar circumstances/conditions.

Also having 20mill stolen from your agreed transfer kitty didn't help, maybe Rafa would have used that to land a good partner for Torres, we'll never know now.

And while i'm at it, having our worst injury crisis in years is not something anyone could forsee, we don't have the fiancial might to be prepared for that, with loads of big money signings sat in the squad on 80grand plus a week.

Not that it surprises me some fans would like to see Rafa gone, there were even scum fans calling for Ferguscums head when it looked like the Chavs would run riot with the Prem for the foreseeable, it's just how some fans are, hopefully our doubting fans will look as daft as the utd ones do now.

One thing i do know, is without all these injuries we would have been fine imo, normal amounts of injuries we can and have handled in the past.

Torres was signed in 07. I was talking about the summer just gone. Rafa should have signed another striker with the £20m he paid for Aqualani.

I know the lad hasn't played but that would leave Lucas, Mascherano and Gerrard to cover the 2 slots in midfield - are you advocating a change in tactics?

Never in a million years IMO . U don't replace 1 of our most important places in the team and let a capable squad player take his place. If u gave me the choice of ngog as back upto torres and aquiliani over torres and another top striker with Lucas in middle , it's aquiliani everytime!!!
